Romo Named Offensive NFC Player of the Week

Quarterback Tony Romo was named NFC Offensive Player on Wednesday.

Romo threw for a career-high 345 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-35 win over the rival New York Giants. He also scored his first career touchdown. The Cowboys scored 45 points, which were the most in a season opener since 1971 (the Cowboys went on to win the Super Bowl that year).

This is a great way to start the season, especially after they way last season ended. With talks all over the media asking if Tony Romo "is the real deal", I think he just confirmed that he’s as real as it gets. After week 1, Tony Romo leads the league is passing yards and touchdowns.

Great job Romo, keep it up!

This is only the beginning. He’s going to be “someone’s something or other” of the week every week. Unless you’re old enough to have watched Roger Staubach play, you haven’t seen a Quarterback like this play for the Cowboys. Mark my words. This kid is fearless, and he’s leading Dallas into multiple championships.

What an amazing game by Romo! I think he may have already eclipsed his game high from last season and it’s only week one!
