The Bucs Stop Here!

Who should we as Cowboys fans be rooting for this weekend?

The great thing about earning a bye in the first round of the playoffs is that we can chill out and let the chips fall where they may. But if most of you are really competitive like me, you’re probably wondering who you’re going too root for this weekend.

Personally, I don’t really care who wins in the AFC, as long as it’s not the New England Patriots. But as far as the first round of the NFC Playoffs is concerned, I gotta tell ya… I’m rooting for the Giants.

I know the Cowboys can beat the Giants, and I wouldn’t mind making it three in a row against them this season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the other hand, are hard to predict. It’s not that I think the Bucs are better than the Giants, it’s just that with the Giants we know what to expect and how to defend against them.

The Bucs are the number one ranked defense in the NFC, and number two ranked defense in the NFL. Last week we got a glimpse at how inept the Dallas offense looked against the solid defense of Washington who is ranked third, and three weeks ago when we scored only six points against the Eagles fourth ranked defense.

For my money, I’m hoping the Giants can somehow find a way to beat the Bucs and head on over to Texas Stadium for a good old fashioned butt kicking. The problem is… I don’t think the Giants can beat the Buccaneers at home.

So this weekend… find it inside you to root, root, root for the road team.

I sort of agree, but remember one thing. The Giants know us just as well, and Eli is playing very well. Their pass rush is #1 by my standards. They have 54 sacks and Romo has been taking alot of pressure from lesser sacking teams of late. So with that being said, be careful what you wish for.
