What An Awesome Year!

I would like to start out by welcoming the newest LoneStarStruck Bloggers!! You guys are great! I look forward to reading more from you! I love seeing all these great personalities coming together in such a positive way!

As a Fan, I am proud of my favorite team. Sure, I would have liked to see them win on Sunday. I was at the stadium in the stands. The walk to my car after the game was the worst! But after I made it to the car, I realized what an awesome season I had been privilaged to witness and participate in. I LOVE ME SOME DALLAS COWBOYS and one game won’t change that! I wouldn’t trade my experience for love nor money.

If you would like to see my pictures from Sunday, click here! I put them in a slideshow and I hope you enjoy watching it! You can see the "White-Out" and other things I saw at the game. The one thing I didn’t get a picture of was the Fox4 camera in my face! I turned around and THERE IT WAS! Whoa!! I’m a fan of Fox4 so it totally threw me off to see them standing there! LOL!

I had a fantastic time this season. I was one of only six people in Texas to be honored with the title "Ultimate Football Fan" for 2007. I proudly tote my Dr. Pepper, Wendy’s and Dallas Cowboy prizes around all the time! I beat my husband in a very important fantasy game and I had ONE outstanding week predicting the games. Yes… just one but it was enough for me to tease my hubby about it for a week! HA!! I also beat a co-worker at the last minute to take the Fantasy Super Bowl win! HURRAY!!

Also, during the 2007 season, I was privilaged to join up with LoneStarStruck as part of their staff! What an honor that has been! Big thanks for welcoming me with open arms. I have enjoyed meeting all you wonderful Fans! You guys totally ROCK!!!

To the Dallas Cowboys: THANK YOU for an awesome season! I can hardly wait to see you Pre-Season ’08!! If you would like to stop by sometime, FEEL FREE!! hehe! We’ll throw some steaks on the grill and toss around the skin!! Hey, you can’t blame a girl for tryin’, right?

To the Fans: YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!! You stuck to the game plan Sunday and did an outstanding job supporting your team with noise at all the right times! I was so excited to be a part of that!

I hope to find a way to continue blogging here with you every week. It may become difficult since I write about the fan experience! I’m going to try to find my way through the off-season though! I have totally enjoyed being here on LoneStarStruck every Wednesday and I can’t imagine not having that as a part of my weekly ritual.

We will get through the off-season TOGETHER! 2008 is the year of the Cowboy! All others need make way for the best team in history that is to come!

Ya’ll enjoy the rest of the Play-Offs! I’ll see you again on Wednesday!!

HOW ‘BOUT THEM COWBOYS!?

Congrats on your ULTIMATE FAN WINNINGS! Thats really awesome!
I’ve looked forward to your articles every Wednesday. I love reading your thoughts and experiences at the game. And love the pictures you’ve shared from the games.
You definitely are an “ULTIMATE FAN”!
Great year for the Cowboys despite the ending. I can’t wait til the draft and training camp and we can do it all over again!
    GO COWBOYS!!!

Awesome year? Uh NO not sure how you would define awesome. but this year was
    less then awesome and it’s
a shame that you believe this season was awesome
because what I seen was a team if you can even call
    them that, get everyones
    expectations up only to
    crush them..so IMO there
    was nothing awesome about
    this team period

    13-3 isn’t acceptable, TexasCowboy?
I was disappointed Sunday. I hate that we didn’t win and my season as a fan is over. I said ‘Good Bye” to my stadium seat, walked to my car still decked out in my gear and SMILING. As fan, I enjoyed the ride and I have EVERY REASON to be proud of them and optimistic about their future!

    Hey Kelly & Raina! Thanks!
I was so excited to learn that I was picked! I found out about an hour before we left home to see the Cowboys play! Just when I thought that day couldn’t get any better… I should have bought a lottery ticket that day, too! HA! *kicking self*
    It WAS a great year!
    I had so much fun!

No it’s not acceptable b/c it didn’t end in a super bowl win for us. and what makes me this way is something Tom Landry
had said after his Cowboys had lost the 1978 super bowl to the Steelers. There is no such thing as 2nd place and contrary to what you may hear In reality there is no such thing as 2nd place. Even Lombardi
    him self refused to accept
    2nd place because all he
    ever wanted was his Packers
team to be 1st. so when a
season ends like this I see
    no upside with no excuses
    except it’s failure

TexasCowboy, I understand & I can relate. However, my goal for the team is to win the Super Bowl in 2011; to be the first team in history to play AND WIN the Super Bowl AT HOME. If we go 2 far 2 fast now, it makes that goal unrealistic.
I can’t think about today or the here & now. I am looking into the future to what I want for the team. It’s what I do in my personal & professional life… and when it comes to my favorite team :)
