Let's talk Chad Johnson

Talk of getting Chad Johnson (from Cincinnati) in Dallas is increasing by the hour.

It’s all I heard about on the radio during my morning commute.

I’m all for it. But should I be?

Let’s hear what Lonestarstruck readers have to say.

Talk to me!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Johnson here are some stats from his entry on wikipedia.com

Chad Johnson holds the following records in the Bengals organization:

  • Most receiving yards in a season (1,440)
  • Most receiving yards all-time
  • Most receptions
  • Most receiving yards in a game (260)
  • Most seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards (6)
  • Most touchdown receptions in a game (3, tied with several other players)

On March 20, 2008 Johnson discussed his desire to play for the Dallas Cowboys on Fox’s The Best Damn Sports Show Period, stating "If I end up in Dallas, I would just look at which finger I’m gonna put it on. That’s it. Ain’t no ifs, ands or buts about it," referring to winning a Super Bowl ring.

Chad Johnson is also the cousin of former Cowboy Keyshawn Johnson. (Drama must run deep in their family lol).

Maybe, as long as he doesn’t try to sell those crazy hair pieces from when his hair was blonde. haha…
But on a serious note. Do we need a(nother) loud, arrogant wide receiver? After everyone has taken T.O. under their wing? What about Crayton and Hurd and even Glenn if hes healthy (big if).
I think the Cowboys have bigger needs to address. But then again injury could kill us at that position.
I guess I just have mixed feelings.

Bring him on, our coaching staff is excellant with dealing with big egos and I believe he would be a major positive force for our offense.

Great topic of debate Tiffany. Of course there is no denying the enormous talent that comes with Chad Johnson. Can you imagine splitting CJ and TO and having them run down the field? No defense on earth can defend against it. It would boost Romo’s completion percentage and yard per pass. With a running game headlined by Barber, Romo at QB, and Johnson and Owens tearing up the secondary, there will be no stopping us! I can deal with Chad’s ‘tude if it comes with a Superbowl Trophy.

I think he would fit just fine, attitude and all but how much $$ is he gonna want? If we can fit him under the cap then sure go for it. We sure would benefit from two all-star receivers. It sure would make Romo and Barbers jobs a bit easier.

I’m with you on this Joe. I just keep picturing him opposite TO and laughing while watching a defense trying to stop them both. It would be freaking awesome!

I’m not thrilled with the idea of Ocho Cinco, but if the egos on the offense don’t clash…no big deal. We are lucky to have a variety on our O-line that caters to just about every situation. Tweak what we already have, and re-arrange, and for God’s sake stay healthy!!! I’m still worried about our defense and special teams. Need a stronger, faster line to stop the kick off return if you ask me. I’m so ready for this season, I’ve even named my new beagle pup “Romo”….I know…I need help! LOL!

    I SAY GO FOR IT!!!!

i think wed be good for chad he wants a winning team and terry glenn is gettin old and if we got him we would have the best recieving attack in the nfl

While I am a fan of Chad Johnson, I would rather NOT have him in the Cowboys lockerroom. The same goes for Pac Man Jones. I am a huge believer in team chemistry, and I believe that either one of these players, for different reasons, would upset Team chemistry, which would in turn jepordize our chances of Championship this season. I think we have a great team chemistry right now, and Chad Johnson’s personality would upset that. Pac Man Jones’s off field problems would also serve to upset team chemistry. I don’t want anything or anyone that may hurt our chances at a Superbowl ring this season.

Chad Johnson is a great player but it worries me about TO, Chad, and now Pacman in the same locker room??? WOW Hope it doesn’t end up stirring things up with TO because he is finally happy with a team.

I hope we get a good WR weither its Boldin, Roy Williams or CJ would help our O# and some sick FFball points. I can’t wait to see what Jerry Jones dose. Cowboys 4-life.

A good conversation piece it is because as much as I enjoy watching Chad (Ocho-Cinco) Johnson and would love for him to play for the Dallas Cowboys, I don’t see him joining the team anytime soon.
