Is the bad Romo starting to outweigh the good??

I wanted to give myself some time to recover before I typed anything I would regret.  I needed to sleep on it to make sure I really felt this way.  The problem was I couldn’t sleep.  The thought that kept going in and out of my mind was: Has the bad Tony Romo started to outshine the good?

Another game, another turnover.  In this case it was turnovers.  Make no doubt about it, this one hurt.  I will not say that the last INT was entirely Romo’s fault.  But as he said it came out of his hand so he will put that one on him.  It goes without saying: Tony is the best cowboy QB since Aikman.  That we know.  The question is can he lead this team to the Super Bowl?  Hey, 13-3 regular seasons, home playoff games and potential playoff runs don’t happen every year..just ask the Patriots.  An 0-2 post season record and at least one turnover in 15 of the last 16 games will not get it done.  It was after the first INT that I yelled out my first, “every game”.  After the third I starting to get the scary vision that Tony Romo may end up being a new version of Jake Plummer.  He can make plays with his feet, he will be exciting as hell, but he will have at least one turnover every game.  The way the defense played yesterday, and for the past month, they deserved better.  Look what Big Ben did.  I know he was at home but he made the plays to win. Before this year I would have given you two QB’s that I would rather have than Romo(Brady & P Manning).  Now, I can think of 5…with at least 8 more that are very debatable.

Hey, the season is not over and Tony’s career can not be defined by one bad game.  He will have the next 3 weeks and hopefully more to prove he can lead the Cowboys to the big game.  But make no mistake about it.  The bloom is off the Romo rose.  A disapointing finish to this year will do nothing but make these rumblings a whole lot louder.

see your point BUT Romo is not calling the plays, we don’t know if someone ran the wrong play ect. I believe Jason Garrett blew this one by not being more aggressive in his play calling. Don’t let up keep it up until the play clock is at 0:00!

common guys seriously??? Think of Eli Manning,we must be patient with him, after all dont you think this was the reason he wasnt drafted??? It will come with time, and he is the best we have a the moment unless we want the Brad Johnson thing again. Is there anything better out ther??
We as Cowboys fans are sometimes very spoiled,we want everything to be absolutely perfect and that just isnt gonna happen. As the Dallas Cowboys we will never have the luxury of sneaking up on anybody, wearing that star is gonna make every team hit us hard especially the Steelers. We need to be thankful that we are 8-5 even with all the injuries…and not just regular injuries but injuries to key players Newman Williams Barber F.Jones the suspension of Pacman.Be thankful for Tashard Choice and his heart and desire racking up the most yards against that number 1 defense.
Be thankful for that defense,Ware,Hamlin,James,Ratliff,Newman each week they come out and play their hearts out and never give up even though they are continuly put in tough situations
So be happy we have a team like this Romo isnrt perfect but look at his number he is among the leaders in every category even missing 3 games in the middle of the season he is the best we have and until somebody can come up with a better solution be happy we have him instead of Johnson or Bollinger or Garrett or Bledsoe all these years we were looking for a top QB and now we have one and everybody is still finding things to complain about shopuld we blame T.O. for stopping on the route???…or blame Witten for running the wrong rout or not looking for the ball on the 4th down play
    GO COWBOYS and GO ROMO

IF THE STEELERS DONT GET THE TOUCHDOWN IN THOSE LAST 5 MINUTES THEN WERE NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT THE LAST INTERCEPCTION THAT ROMO THREW. THE COWBOYS WENT PREVENT DEFENSE THATS WHY THE STEELERS MOVED THE BALL ON THOSE LAST 5 MINUTES.THEY COULD NOT MOVE THE BALL FOR THOSE THREE AND A HALF QUARTERS. DONT BLAME TONY ROMO BLAME THE COACH FOR PLAYING NOT TO LOSE.

  4. James Edwards

no why dont we blame witten???? he ran the wrong route….then he didnt look for the ball on the last 4th down
or lets blam the offensive line on both of those plays on each one Romo had a linebacker in his face the coach draws up the plays but the players must excecute and its not always the the QBs fault we are so quick to poiubt out Romos ints but i can recall on numerous occasions this year where his recievers just ran the wrong route

It is the first game that I have questioned Romo’s ability. The thought did cross my mind.
I hope to God I am wrong. I have supported and believed in him vehemently.
Yes the coaching staff is to blame for many things going on this season.
But Romo made bad throws all game long. No one else did that.

There’s Nothin Wrong with Romo… The interceptions are getting old, yes. But to his defense, I personally don’t believe any of them, (with the exception of maybe the first one) were his fault. The combination of wrong routes being run by T.O. and Witten… Plus bad play-calling… Oh, and you could definitely tell tht especially in the 4th quarter, Marion Barber was missed. My hat goes off the defense and to Tashard Choice for playing their hearts out!!
You know, to go in and hang around with the team tht has the Number 1 defense, really says something about the character on this team, specifically the defense.

Make no doubt about it, I love Romo. My only point was is that I now have some doubts about Romo as a big game QB. I don’t think it’s fair to ask that. I have seen him turn the ball over in literally 14 out of the last 16 games (or close to it). I saw him make the great play in the 3rd to TO, but I also saw him throw 3 INTS (his fault or not). Top 3 Qb in the league when he is on his game. No better than J Garcia, Dellhome, McNabb, etc when he turns the ball over. And unfortunatly we dont know which one is going to show up.

  8. TD

YOU TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD.
That is the most overused stat….however many games in a row with a turnover….I wonder how many games in a row he has gone with a TD pass?
No one ever brings that up.
Check his record as a starter. That is the only “stat” I care about.

Danny White had great “stats” too. Look where he took us. Romo is a good but not great QB. Maybe he’ll improve. The bottom line with me is this. Romo has yet to prove to me that he can come through when his back is against the wall.
