  • What was that you said? Who sucks? Grossman? how KITNA! What has he done to make this signing a good one. Oh thats right he was on that 0-16 team. Then there’s Brookings who you quoted went to 5 or 6 pro bowls in a row…. its 2009 buddy and I may be just me but it seems we just got another Brad Johnson and Zach Thomas. Congrats Cowboys on your D grade so far in free agency!

  • Relax Mike,
The Cowboys traded what really is an injury prone cornerback whose best days are behind him, for a backup quarterback who was better than Brad Johnson.
The trade is neither great or terrible, it’s even. Both teams fulfilled a need and that’s what you hope to see from a trade.
As for Brooking, he essentially replaces Zach Thomas who won’t be coming back. He’s younger, and if the rumors are correct cheaper too.
Did you expect the Cowboys to trade for Eli Manning as backup quarterback? I mean come on it’s backup quarterback.
It wasn’t too long ago Quincy Carter was our starting quarterback. How quickly we forget how good we really have it.

  • With Henry gone so goes the “backup” or whatever you want to call him to have Hamlin go to SS and cut Roy. Does this mean they’re gonna try to find a FS or is Roy staying for one more year?

  • I know… I’m a little sore, don’t care for Kitna (can you tell?…lol) but after seeing Boley and Bernard go to the Giants I was hoping for a little more to help our team. I would love to see Shawn Springs in a Cowboys uniform. He was cut by the Skins and is a local guy.
What I don’t understand is how the Redskins were almost last on the list of teams that had cap money and then they signed three players for a total of almost $180 million. How does that work. SOunds like the Cowboys should be able to spend some on Canty and others too.

  • Mike, I agree that Canty needs to be signed. That would be huge. But the bottom line is Ware needs to get his extension. They can still do both but it will be tight. Let’s just hope Canty doesn’t end up in NY.
Lots of contracts in Washington are going to have to be reworked for the Skins’ numbers to add up. You ink Hall for $46M and Fat Albert for $100M you HAVE to rework something.
I think bringing in Springs is a good move. We have 2 young corners that could learn a lot from T-New and Springs.
Let’s all take a deep breath. The Kitna signing is solid. But losing Henry tells me safety Roy Williams isn’t going anywhere. Which is fine by me.
I expect something big to happen soon. Jones says they’ll do “light shopping”. Don’t believe it for a second.
My prediction: For better or worse..Ray Lewis will be a Dallas Cowboy in 2009.

  • No problem Mike, we all get frustrated with this team sometimes including myself.
Cowboy Bill – Do you really think so?
I hope not, I think it will be just aniother case of signing a name rather than filling a need. We’ve had too much of that in the last few years. I hope your wrong, but I got a funny feeling you are right.

  • I hope your are not right about Ray. I really don’t think he would be worth it, where would we stick him now anyways? We nned to get younger not older. I think Roy could still be on the move. I think that safety is still a need. I don’t necesssarily think that releasing Henry means anything. It wasn’t a done deal about him playing safety.
How about this, some UFA that would be great fits to replace Roy:
Dewan Landry fom Baltimore….. Jermaine phillips of Tampa…or Marlon McCree of Denver, Didn’t he play for Phillips in San Diego??
I know I already mentioned Shawn Springs, which I would love still but look who is also available at corner: Evan Olglesby, Chris McAlister, and Dre Bly? I would love a Bly and TNew combo too!
Come on Boys, this is OUR year!

  • I don’t think Dallas needs to get a big name CB. I was very impressed with Jenkins and Scandrick. Scandrick has the speed to play the Corner back that covers every team’s speedy slot receiver. Jenkins has talent theres no doubt and most team’s 2nd receiver aren’t that good anyway. Keep money for D-Ware who is the most deserving player to get money because he’s a non ego player that loves the game.
