Cowboys Extra Points: Troy, Cricket and the Three Headed Monster

It has been confirmed that Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman is a part of the San Diego Padres’ ownership group. Former sports agent Jeff Moorad became the CEO of the baseball team this week and the group plans to take complete control of the team within the next five years.

With the NFL considering adding more games, they have come up with 2 formulas. It will be either 3 preseason games and 17 regular season games, or 2 preseason games and 18 regular season games. Jerry Jones is for the 2/18 formula, because he believes it would please fans.

Wade Phillips noted that he would like to get all three running backs involved in the offense. Marion Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice (or what I like to call “The Three-Headed Monster”) are extremely talented. Last season we only caught a glimpse of their unique talents. This season we will unleash the full force of their power, speed and agility.

Fullback Deon Anderson is not happy with the new rules banning wedges on kickoff returns.

“I know they’re looking out for the safety of the players, but at the same time, this is a full-contact sport. I think it takes away from football a little bit. I know they’re looking out for our safety, but we’re not playing two-hand touch. I really don’t like it.”

I’m on your side Cricket!

If you haven’t heard yet, Anthony Spencer has been relieved of all charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct from an arrest back in January.

Lone Star Struck will be holding a pre-draft chat this Sunday 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. CST. All Cowboys fans are invited. We will be discussing mock drafts, concerns and anything else that pops up. See ya then!

  • Hopefully more players like Anderson come out and put a stop to the two new rules on kickoffs, they’re just rediculous
