The T.O. Tour Continues…
An article by James Edwards
Comments Off The T.O. tour now has completed 3 stops,3 quarterbacks,3 cities.
Stop #1 San Fransisco – The 49ers had Terrel Owens and had a good run,a epic game in Green Bay that basically solidified Owens as a top receiver in the NFL,Owens then had his fallout of sorts with head coach Steve Mariucci and QB Jeff Garcia, and soon after that marriage ended and neither has looked back since.San Fransisco had not anticipated the rough goings with Owens and had absolutely nobody to fill that number one WR spot, and that team is still struggling to win their division in which many think is the easiest in the NFL.
Stop #2 Philadelphia – The Eagles were the next stop on the T.O. tour, and easily the best with Owens catching 14 touchdowns in only 12 games and playing in the Super Bowl on what amounted to a broken leg.Now the Eagles fought valiantly against the New England Patriots but came up just short.Owens had a great game with 9 receptions,122 yards. As was the case in San Fransisco Owens soon had a very public dispute going with his head coach Andy Reid, and QB Donovan McNabb, the relationship soon ended and Owens was suspended from the team and later released.Philadelphia had no replacement for Owens and the Eagles still seem to be that one big playmaker away from returning to the Super Bowl.Drafting Desean Jackson from the University of California was a huge success this year, but Jackson just is not a number one receiver.
Stop #3 Dallas - The Cowboys are different than both Philly and San Fran when it comes to Owens in a few ways. The quarterback and head coach did not end the relationship with Owens not being able to stand the man even being around, actually his release from Dallas was a bit of a surprise to many in the Cowboys organization.During the 08-09 season Owens did have a bit of a run in with off-coordinator Jason Garret,QB Tony Romo, and TE Jason Witten claiming they were conspiring against him making plays to keep the ball from Owens. In the middle of the season Dallas traded for 6’3 211 lbs Roy E. Williams from the Detroit Lions for multiple draft picks including the Cowboys’ first round pick in ’09.Williams has now been anointed the replacement for Owens, which in my mind is the biggest difference between Dallas and the other 2 teams Owens played for.Dallas has a player younger than Owens, and very similar in size and ability as Owens, but without all the baggage that comes along with having T.O.
Buffalo is the latest team to pick up Owens and before they let him go make sure they have somebody who can at least fill up half of Owens’ shoes or suffer the same fate of either being below average like the 49ers,or being heartbroken year after year because you are one piece away like in Philadelphia.
I hope you all enjoy my first post here on LSS, and please let me know of anything I can do to better improve my blogging skills. *GO*COWBOYS*

Welcome to LSS James! Great Post!
I was very openly supportive of Terrell Owens while he was in Dallas. I understand the release was about the bigger picture – the team as a whole. Its really not characteristic for Jerry to make that move, but I give him credit for stepping up.
Roy E. is going to shine brighter than most think, and Miles Austin has HUGE potential.
Good luck with Owens Buffalo, but I have to say, so far it ain’t looking like a happy marriage…
Looking forward to reading more from you James! GO COWBOYS!
