Falcons Blockbuster Trade

The Atlanta Falcons and Kansa City Chiefs have just agreed to send TE Tony Gonzales to the Falcons in exchange for Atlanta’s 2nd round pick in the 2010 NFL draft.

Tony Gonzales has wanted out of Atlanta since the end of the season which saw his Chiefs only win 2 games. Gonzales is not interested in being apart of the massive rebuilding going on in KC and has expressed privately to the Chiefs management that he would like to be traded. KC management has said all along that they will not trade Gonzales.

Atlanta now has the potential with QB Matt Ryan, RB Micheal Turner, WRs Roddy White, Micheal Jenkins and emerging receiver Harry Douglas in the slot. Now this offense has a TE who can and will threaten the middle of the feild, who you must look for in the red zone with his jumping ability and great hands.

The Falcons have basically struck gold in this trade they will be a force to be reckoned with this season.

  1. they were a force to reckon with before this trade now this is downright scary

  2. wow. heck of a move.

this totally blew my mind for 2 reasons one because they are going to be un stoppable as long as they do not get bit by the injury bug and do not get to confident as a offense.

The 2nd reason is that Tony Gonzales is a hall of famer he has done so much on and off the feild and the so called genius Scott Pioli gave him away basically they got a 2nd round pick next year but common now this man is one of the best tight ends in all of football and he is worth alot more than that.People will say well what if they could not get anything better…..well then keep him until you do get a better offer,Gonzales is the type of player that is going to play and not be a distraction either way

Nice move for the Falcons. Leadership and experience for them. And of course Dallas has to play them this season.

wow, I never thought that the Chiefs would trade Gonzalez! He was like an institution in Kansas City, the fans must be going crazy out there. This guy used to be my fantasy tight end every year until Jsaon Witten came along.
