Cowboys Pick Up Three Players
Today the Cowboys added three more players to compete for positions.
Defensive End Derreck Robinson, former Dolphin
Tight End Scott Chandler, former Charger
Wide Receiver Mike Jefferson, former Bill
Derreck Robinson was signed by the San Diego Chargers in 2005 as an undrafted free agent. Robinson, 27, has played in 23 NFL games with the Chargers. Robinson played under Wade Phillips in San Diego when he was the defensive coordinator. The defensive end didn’t play last year and the prior year he was on the Miami Dolphins team.
Scott Chandler was drafted by the San Diego Chargers during the 4th round, pick 129 overall, back in 2007. Chandler is 23, has had a horrible run with injuries. He spent 2008 on in the injured reserve. He was a receiver in college and moved to tight end during the fall of 2004. The Chargers waived Chandler April 27th.
Mike Jefferson was in Dallas last year. The 26-year-old receiver was picked up as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and was later released in 2008 just before the season began when the Cowboys reduced the roster to the final 53. He cleared waivers and was signed to the practice squad the next day. At the end of October the Cowboys released him from the practice squad. He was picked up by the Bills in January this year, but later waived on May 21st.
In total the Cowboys now have 83 players on their roster. The Cowboys have two more weeks of organized team activities and a mandatory mini-camp in mid-June. Training camp begins in San Antonio on July 29th.

I liked Mike Jefferson last preseason. I’m glad they got him back.
