If Only Football Season Was Year-Round

The month of May has to be the most dreaded month for football bloggers abroad. Everyday we wake in the morning and begin to read football headlines, watch sports television and browse sports blogs looking for topic or news to discuss.

During the season, pre/post-season and draft its so easy. News just lands in your lap. Especially when the Dallas Cowboys are involved. Then here comes the month of May. The only thing we really had going for us this month was mini camp. Man, what a disaster that was. How unfortunate that the first time the ‘new’ guys get together for practice, the roof collapses?!

Towards the end of the month, the team will get together for the first full-squad minicamp. The NFL Spring Meeting will be going on at the same time.

I should also remind you to tune your television to Spike TV for the premiere of Michael Irvin’s reality show “4th and Long” on May 18th.

Beyond that we are (not so) patiently awaiting training camp in July. Maybe we will get some news here and there on the players and the new stadium. I don’t expect too much news coming out for the next month.

You know how they say “No news is good news”, well maybe that’s true to an extent, but it sure makes for a boring time for us bloggers.

When there’s news, we will be sure to bring it to you. We’re in this offseason together ‘Die-Hards’!

I hear ya. We want football, but we don’t want to wish away the Spring and Summer. Well, at least I don’t. One more month until all the preseason magazines come out all saying pretty much the same things, but I still buy a lot of them. This why I loved the USFL when I was a kid in the off season.
