Mat McBriar is Ready to Go

ESPN’s Matt Mosley has reported that he spoke with Cowboys punter Mat McBriar and he has some great news:

Many of you recall that Cowboys punter Mat McBriar suffered a broken right foot last October in an overtime loss to the Cardinals and missed the rest of the season. I had a chance to visit with McBriar recently and he said the foot was “95 percent” healed and that he’d be ready to go if the season began tomorrow.

He’ll wrap up the Cowboys’ voluntary workout program before making his annual visit to his hometown of Victoria, Australia.

I don’t think many people realized how important McBriar’s role really is, or how much it hurt the Cowboys when he went down.

Let me just say, field position is HUGE! Our Pro Bowl punter is awesome at his job and I’m glad he will be back on the field this summer for camp.

Great news!! Let’s hope the injury bug is far behind us. I think we had enough last season to last the next five years
