The famous bronze Tom Landry statue has finally come out of storage and been placed in it’s new home at Cowboys Stadium just in time before the home opener.
Standing 9-feet tall, the statue stood outside of Texas Stadium for years and now has been trasnfered to the new stadium and placed at Gate A across the way from the Cowboys Pro Shop in Arlington.
Owner Jerry Jones said the placement of the Tom Landry statue was one of the finishing touches left to do on the team’s new home.
“This is one of the finishing touches that makes the presentation of the stadium complete. Coach Landry’s presence was certainly felt for years at the Cotton Bowl and Texas Stadium, and his legacy will be with us for generations to come at Cowboys Stadium.”
It’s almost as if the great Tom Landry is watching over the team.
Fans may also be happy to read that the traditional blue star logo will also appear midfield.
