Inconsistency Is Killing Me

Mad, Frustrated, Depressed you name it that’s how I am feeling.  I am so sick and tired of watching a different team every week.  This is a frustration blog and I NEED to get it out.  Week in and week out the Cowboys play different.  One week, a GREAT game, flawless and the next they look like my old high school team could beat them.

What is the problem you may ask?  Well ya know what, I am asking that same question.  WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?????  The Cowboys have 3 of the best running backs in the league, the BEST tight end in the league, and a top 10 quarterback in the league.  Why can’t they move the ball down the field like they should?

This last Sunday Romo sat down with hall of famer Michael Irvin for a one on one conversation. Unfortunately, due to work, I was only able to catch bits and pieces of it.  One thing I did hear Michael Irvin ask Romo was:

“What makes the team this year different from last year?”

Romo said, “When we lose, no one points the finger at one person or another, they look at themselves and say, what can I do to make this team better?”

Yes that is the answer that every fan out there wants to hear. But on top of that, we all want to SEE that happen.  We want to see this team IMPROVE from week to week.  Honestly, I think discipline is a major factor in the locker room, on the practice field and during games.  While I am watching a game and lets say a penalty happens, heads hang down.  No one gets mad and screams and hollers at anyone for causing the team 5, 10, 15 or more yards. COME ON!!!! Someone get mad, someone scream, someone put fire into this team, IT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED!!!!!!

I have been a Cowboys fan ever since I was a little boy sitting in front of the TV with my dad.  Over 30 years and I am not ever going to change that, but it is about time the team changes how they play before other fans out there decide that “Amercia’s Team” is not so hot afterall. Screw the December hex, screw the critics, screw the haters, PLAY SOME SERIOUS BALL!!!!!!!!!!

I’m right there with you. The problem is coaching for the most part. Maybe Garrett just does not know how to put his players in the best position to succeed. Just look at Sean Payton. He has so many offensive weapons, which includes no #1 guy. He puts his players in the position to succeed and gets great results. Have you heard anything about a #1 receiver in New Orleans or a #1 one running back? No!!! They all play and they all do well because of the coaching. Time to let Garrett loss as much as I loved him as a player. It’s time to move on.

This team has no real identity…..and like Rob said…it starts with the coaching. Garrett is from the old school ernie zampese type coach….It makes me laugh we he says this is an attacking offense yet how many times do they throw it down the field early in games? Its hard toimagine it already being week 14 and this team still not clicking….something is very wrong with this team even though players and coaches will not admit it…..

Same here. I have been a Cowboys fan for many many years and I as well am not going anywhere, but as a dyehard fan, the team needs to remember that there are alot of other people/fans that will bounce back to a team who carries through with trying and working together as a team to win. If one is bringing you down, move on to someone that can get the job done.

Very well said. I agree with everyone, either the coaches got to go or they need to step it up. With all the talent the cowboys have they should have the same record as the saints or colts. I remember saying that I didnt have any faith in Phillips as a coach in the beginning of the year, in fact I said this in middle to the end of last year. Inconsistency and penalties all point to the coaching staff. I am very frustrated with the coaches. I have to say, if it werent for our outstanding players, I think the cowboys would be looking at last place.

I agree with all of you. I’m a big fan and I know I’m not going anywhere, but come on now when will they get it together. Adams is killing me with all of the penalities. Come on now you’re in the big time now, you shouldn’t be making those darn mistakes.

Roy Williams still was not worth all of the draft picks. I believe there will be a coaching change once the season is over.

I agree with all of you. Every week, we as fans are always worried of not knowing what to expect. I think it begins with jerry jones controlling his team, and then with the passive and ineffectiveness of the coaching staff.
