My wife asked me if I was excited last night after the Cowboys beat the Eagles and then again this morning. My answer was yes of course I am excited, but I can’t help having a feeling of taking a business approach to all of this. Maybe it’s because of all the haters and all the people that have been against the Cowboys. Maybe it’s because the journey is not over and the goal has not been accomplished. Was I excited and going crazy during the win against the Eagles? Yes! Am I enjoying the ride? Yes! But then there is this feeling of let’s get back to work.
I’ve seen it from the Cowboys players the last few weeks. It’s like a them vs the world type of attitude. Next up is a visit to Minnesota for the divisional round. And that is how the Cowboys are approaching it. Like I said earlier…A business approach.
As reported from DallasNews.com there didn’t seem to be too much celebrating in the locker room after beating the Eagles.
“Know what? It won’t be as much fun if we don’t take care of business during the week and prepare the way we can,” safety Ken Hamlin said. “Continuing playing is great, but we’re not settling for this one game.”
“That’s what I love about this team, it’s on to the next thing,” defensive end Marcus Spears said. “You really don’t have time to soak in what you just did.”
Here is a great post game interview from Marcus Spears on DallasCowboys.com. Listen as he talks about Minnesota…or is he? Couldn’t help but laugh as I watched it.
Maybe I am feeding off the players. It’s just how I feel. Take care of business and move on. Enjoy the ride of course, but there will be plenty of time to celebrate once they accomplish what they are after.
