Cowboys offer Tenders to Players

Only a few hours before Free Agency starts, the Cowboys have made offers to the following players as reported by DallasNews.com…

Miles Austin, First Round Tender

Sam Hurd, Second Round Tender

Corey Procter, Second Round Tender

Jason Hatcher, Second Round Tender

Pat McQuistan, Original Draft Pick

Junior Siavii, Original Draft Pick

Marcus Spears, Original Draft Pick

Stephen Bowen, Second Round Tender

Pat Watkins, Original Draft Pick

Duke Preston, Original Draft Pick

Gerald Sensabaugh, Second Round Tender

Kicker Shaun Suisham was not offered any Tender which makes him a Free Agent.

The Cowboys also signed cornerback Cletis Gordon to a one year contract today.

I don’t expect much from the Cowboys in this years Free Agency. But when it comes to Jerry Jones anything is possible.

Let the games begin and the spending too.

spears will only draw a second round pick despite his original first round selection in ’05. under the current tenders, he will also earn less than the entire d-line including back ups hatcher and bowen. at this point, its obvious what the brass think of spears. they are setting themselves up to have an open competition between hatcher and bowen while moving dixon up for a ride on the 53 man roster. having #27 and two second round picks in this year’s draft sounds good to me.
