They “Talk At Night”

In just over a month, “The Triplets” will be reunited in Canton, OH.

John Madden is convinced that the busts “talk at night.”  What will this trio talk about?  This fan can imagine plenty of teasing and ribbing going on.  Will Irvin and Aikman forever tease Smith for not knowing what the 1-15 season felt like?  Maybe, Smith and Irvin will forever tease Aikman for his singing abilities?  What about that fur coat Irvin?

I can also imagine the great stories of superstardom. Emmitt’s separated shoulder against the Giants.  Aikman winning; however, not even remembering the NFC Championship game. The rubber-man catch and touchdown by Irvin in Pasadena.  The list could go on and on.

Then there are the “what if” questions that will be ever present; however, seldom a word spoken.  What if the ’94 Championship game had been at Texas Stadium?  What if Jimmy had never left?  What if Irvin had just landed a bit differently that day?  What if?  What if?  What if?  These too can go on and on.

No matter the conversation when the lights go down in the corridors of Canton, this trio will now forever add the “Hall of Famer” tag to their “Triplets” moniker.

  1. Together the “Triplets” took the team to greatness and glory, and now it’s fitting that they are together again at the place where the NFL’s greatest become enshrined as legends. I hope someday soon, they are honored during a special per-game ceremony in their honor where they give-away Triplet Bobbleheads to all who attend! Nice post Big Daddy.

They will never be matched. I feel bad that Moose is never included even though we all know how Emmitt feels about him. As far as the ’94 championship game, all three have said it before that it’s the one game that bothers them because they knew they should have won. And maybe the ref should have thrown the damn flag on Deion when he was all over Irvin in the 4th quarter on the goal line. Score was 38-28 and we were out playing them. If that flag is thrown we get first and goal and everyone knew the Boys would score and make it 38-35 with a lot of time left. What if?????

Rob I there there were a couple times Deion was all over Irvin and the refs never threw the flag at all.

    • Deion got the benefit of the doubt throughout his entire NFL career, including when he played for us.

  4. Thats a pretty fun thought dont you think… dreaming about the glory days. Man, can you imagine being lucky enough to spend even one hour with the three of them?

I want a Triplet bobblehead! LOL
