Tony Romo Could Be Out 8-10 Weeks With Broken Clavicle

Bad news Cowboys fans… Tony Romo has suffered a broken left clavicle and the team has announced that he could miss anywhere between 8-10 weeks which could essentially end his season.

Romo had x-rays in the second quarter after suffering the injury and it looks like he will need surgery.

With 12:07 left in the second quarter, Romo fired a pass to Miles Austin, then took the hard hit from linebacker Michael Boley, who was running at him unblocked, going practically full speed. Romo was down, flat on his back, until trainers came to his aid.

He was replaced by Jon Kitna, and the the crowd at Cowboys Stadium is as silent as a graveyard.

This could wipe out the rest of the season for the Cowboys, and with the trade deadline now passed the Cowboys are left to scramble for a solution.

It’s sad to see, and I don’t want to point fingers, but why did the Cowboys elect not to upgrade the offensive line, Romo’s first line of protection?

Get well soon Tony.

Guess it doesn’t really matter considering the defense can not stop the Giants. What can be worse? How about the Jags coming in and winning next week.

Trade deadline over so Kitna is it, or someone worse. I’m wondering if we will win another game this season? We haven’t even played the Eagles yet. Why didn’t we beef up that O-Line? This is devastating to say the least.

Its clear that the entire team feels the same as we do. Devastation fills that stadium. The crazy thing is the game started out so wonderful. Then, boom just like that, it died.

I dont know how to get back into a positive frame of mind.

Dez was the only player that showed any emotion after Tony went out. A rookie! I really feel like we have to get a head coach that will wake this team up or next year may be a repeat! It looked like they all gave up and quit. Don’t get me wrong I love them and always will just venting to my Cowboy Family that understands.

Yes, I agree the hit on Romo should have been a major penalty because it was done intentionally. Of course, nothing was called because the giants can do no wrong (whatever). Also correct about the Cowboy defense horrilble tackling, the giants ran all over them. I just want Romo to recover, and again yes the BOYS will be back!!! Way to go Bryant , you are a true COWBOY!!! Happy now Cowboy haters???

Get well soon Tony. Ok. Is it just bc I am a female fan, or has Romo looked tired the past few games? And why didn’t Jerry draft a quality backup qb when he had the chance? And what it is going to take to get that o line heavy? I hate to use Monday’s game for an answer, but aside from Tony getting injured, this may just be the wake up call Jerry needs. I have been a loyal fan, win or lose, season after season. I feel that the first major changes need to start with Wade. Sorry, but nothing good has came since he’s been there. Regardless I love the boys, and will remain one of their biggest fans.

McGee did fairly well in the preseason and I can’t help but think he’d do a better job than Kitna. Yes, Kitna has the “experience” but he’s lost his touch much like Favre has. He needs to just give it up….
