Call Him Mr. Glass

As I pointed out on September 29, we need a workhorse every-down running back and Felix Jones, who I referred to as Mr. Glass in that post only proved what I said all along.
Jones has been placed in a walking boot this week and is expected to be out anywhere from two to four weeks according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.
Jones suffered a high ankle sprain in the second quarter of the team’s loss to New England and didn’t return.
Jones has fought through a dislocated shoulder to stay on the field this season. He won’t be able to do that with this injury.
Jones will miss the St. Louis and Philadelphia games at a minimum meaning he won’t return to the field until November.
We’ll save a drumstick and some pecan pie for you, Felix.

If anyone needs to be replaced, it’s Felix. He’s just not that every down bruiser back that we need. It’s hamstringing the running game something awful. I hope Murray shows something soon, because in my mind, it’s becoming a position of need in the 2012 draft very quickly.

Felix has great burst once he’s through the hole. I’ve seen Murray have burst getting to the hole, as few as there are from the line. And with Choice it seems like he goes down on first contact. But yes, everytime Felix get tackled I don’t think there is a Cowboys fan around that isn’t wondering if he will get up and if he does what part of his body will be injured. Not sure what to think as far as long term with the RBs.

Oh, how I miss the days of great linemen like Tuinei (RIP), Newton, Stepnoski, Gesek, Williams, Gogan, Allen and Kennard. Did I miss anyone?. Oh yea, that RB we had that ran behind them. What was his name? Emmitt I think.
