Who Would Leave You Starstruck?

How many Dallas Cowboy fans have met a player and was so in awe that you where Starstruck?

My granddaughter asked me if I had ever met a player and if I passed out. Well, I didn’t pass out, but close to it when my parents surprised me by being taken back stage when Danny White was singing in Tulsa.

I couldn’t speak.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Daryl Johnston and I talked to him about the picture I brought to sign of his first touchdown.

Another time, Ken Norton Jr. asked me about my Zuba pants when he was signing my football card, and Nate Newton was a sweetheart when he signed a picture for me.

That made me wonder, what player would actually leave me Starstruck now?

I would have to say it probably would be Emmitt Smith, Tony Romo and DeMarcus Ware. I don’t think I would be speechless, but I sure would be shaking in their presence.

What we want to know is which current or past player would leave you Starstruck?

Tell us your Starstruck stories.

I know I am not the only fan that has had that experience, so please share your own experiences with us. I can’t wait to hear your stories.

Ive been starstruck a couple of times. Onetime was when I met D. Ware, I got autographs and I could hardly speak a word. I didnt know what to say. I felt like a big dork..LOL!! Another time was at the House of Blues in Dallas. Ratliff was hosting Inside the Huddle and a buddy and I were eating dinner and Ratliff walks by our table and says “whats up guys?” I had a piece of cornbread in my mouth and didnt know whether to say whats up or keep chewing. In both instances I felt like a little girl meeting her boy band crush.

I met Emmitt twice. The second time was after the 1994 season. He was at a Sports show in NJ and I brought my Emmitt jersey for him to sign. I felt like a little kid as the line moved closer to him. Right before it was my turn one of his bodyguards reached for the jersey I had and asked me where I wanted Emmitt to sign it and what color. I asked for it to be signed on one of the back numbers in silver marker. When it was finally my turn I went up and was talking to Emmitt and as he was talking to me he took my jersey from his bodyguard and started to sign in black marker on one of the back numbers. His bodyguard looked at him and said that I wanted silver ink. So Emmitt looked at me and smiled and asked silver?? I told him it was no big deal because he already signed it. Emmitt being a great guy grabbed the silver marker and signed the other number on the back. So now I have my Emmitt jersey signed twice. Class act through and through. Never rushed any of the fans away. He took the time to talk to everyone.

I met Drew Pearson back in the 70′s at his father-in-law, Marques Haynes’ house in Tulsa, at Christmas. Had pictures but they’ve since disappeared. I’d LOVE to see him again and meet Tony Dorsett and Roger Staubach! My dream for years.
