Even a broken clock is right twice a day!
It has been largely discussed and argued whether or not Jerry Jones is to blame for the Cowboys failures over the years. I’ve read that the blame goes to the Cowboys coaches. I’ve read the blame goes to the players. I’ve read that the blame goes to Jerry Jones for not having a true football person in charge instead of Jones doing it himself. I’ve also read that maybe the Cowboys just aren’t as talented as [...]

Victor Butler: A rising star in Dallas
When it came time for the Cowboys to make their selection in the 4th round of the 2009 NFL Draft they choose defensive end Victor Butler out of Oregon State. Thoughts were to convert Victor Butler to outside linebacker in the Cowboys 3-4 defense. Three years after being drafted Butler has made a successful transition to outside linebacker and also contributes to the Cowboys special teams. Victor Butler was born on July 29, 1987 in Rialto, CA. [...]

Welcome to my fantasy world!
Since all Cowboys fans know that not much is going to change as long as Jerry Jones is in charge I thought I would jump in and play GM just like Jerry does. I won’t pretend that I understand the salary cap or anything that goes along with it. I’m just giving my opinion on some things and of course having some fun. I understand that it’s probably about 99% fantasy, but hey, I can dream [...]

Another Cowboys season ends in disappointment
I can’t say I was surprised at what happened against the Giants in the final game of the season. The Cowboys have been inconsistent all season long. Why would I believe things would be different in the final game, which is what I wrote about last week? I won’t even get into the specifics of the game other than to say once again this team could not play four quarters, which has been the case [...]

The Rematch
As I sit watching the replay of the Cowboys-Giants game from a few weeks ago on NFL Network, a few things are clear. 1. Terence Newman should have had a pick six early in the first quarter. 2. The Cowboys secondary played horrible. 3. Eli Manning had all day to throw. 6. The Cowboys defense seemed confused many times. 4. Felix Jones ran the ball very well. 5. Tony Romo played amazing. 6. The Cowboys receivers [...]

After 15 games why should we believe things are going to be different going into the 16th game?
The 2011 NFC East title will come down to the last game of the season between the Cowboys and the Giants. The NFL has moved the game to Sunday Night Football on NBC as well. What will happen in this game is anyone’s guess. I’ve said it many times before that I tell it like it is when it comes to the Cowboys. Other than being a loyal fan and sticking with your team what [...]

Here they come around the final turn!
The Cowboys and Giants head into the last three weeks of the 2011 season with a lot on the line. The NFC East division title is still up for grabs. I was looking at the NFL tie breakers and added where both the Giants and Cowboys stand as of right now. The Cowboys and Giants are tied in the NFC East with 7-6 records. Of course the Giants are ahead due to their victory last [...]

So now what happens?
Now what happens with the Cowboys? How many times can we watch these Cowboys lose these kinds of games? The Cowboys looked like they were heading towards a division championship as they led the Giants 34-22 with five minutes to go in the game. Then once again as has been the case this season and in past seasons the Cowboys defense allowed a team to drive down the field and score. Then with the Cowboys [...]

Can negative stats work in the Cowboys favor against the Giants?
Have you ever been watching a game and a stat comes up on the screen saying something like a particular quarterback has not thrown an interception in 200+ pass attempts or a defense has not allowed any points in the last two minutes of a game in the last 30+ games? Then of course that quarterback throws an interception at the worst possible time or the defense gives up the touchdown to lose the game [...]

Visiting the Cardinals has become the Field of Terror for the Cowboys
October 12, 2008. The Cowboys lost to the Cardinals 30-24 in OT when Matt McBriar’s punt was blocked and returned for the winning touchdown. The game also saw serious injuries to Tony Romo, Felix Jones, Matt McBriar (on the blocked punt) and Anthony Spencer. December 25, 2010. The Cowboys lost to the Cardinals 27-26 as Miles Austin scored with less then two minutes to play, but David Buehler missed the extra point which made the score only 26-24. The [...]

It’s a Wonderful Life Dan Bailey
For those of you who are familiar with my articles know that I kind of go in different directions many times. I’m not one to always do a game recap. Now that Thanksgiving has passed and we are now into Christmas season I would like to share a story with everyone. It’s a story that will make you laugh and make you cry. For those who have seen the Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” will understand the story that is about [...]

Another Cowboys-Redskins battle comes down to the end
Did anyone really expect anything other than a close game against the division rival Redskins? In eight out of the last 11 meetings between the Cowboys and Redskins the winning margin has been no more than six points, with the Cowboys winning five and the Redskins winning three. In the first meeting between these two teams back in September it came down to a last second field goal by rookie Dan Bailey to win the game [...]
