Dez Is How We Do It In Big D
Many may be worried about his integrity. Many may be worried about his stamina, having played very little ball in his final college season at Oklahoma State. But today, Dez Bryant proved his drive by being the first player to take the field for the kickoff of training-camp. According to the Associated Press, Bryant was on the field 45 minutes early wearing his coveted number 88 jersey. He began catching passes soon-after from undrafted rookie QB [...]

AP: Cowboys Offseason Recap, Super Bowl Chances
Interesting read by the Associated Press on the Cowboys and their chances for another title. Since the end of last season, and even before that, Jerry Jones has constantly reminded his Cowboys that Super Bowl XLV will be played at their own stadium in February. “Our owner lets us know the game is at Cowboys Stadium and he would love his team to play in it,” Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware said. “We are doing [...]

Two Sign On The Line – Talks With Dez Begin
The Associated Press is reporting that the Cowboys have signed two of their 2010 draft picks. OT Sam Young and DE Sean Lissemore both signed four-year contracts. The team has not yet announced any deals on four other draft picks as of Tuesday: WR Dez Bryant, and LB Sean Lee. The team has confirmed that negotiations with Bryant, the 24th pick overall, began on Monday. Training camp starts for the Cowboys this Saturday in San Antonio.

October 27th, 2002 – I had seen Emmitt and the Cowboys just a week earlier in Arizona. When I purchased the tickets, I knew I would have a chance to see the all-time rushing record broken. I fell just 93 yards short and Emmitt went on to break the record at Texas Stadium the following week. As Emmitt heads for the hallowed halls of Canton it can be said, with confidence, that this record may [...]

They “Talk At Night”
In just over a month, “The Triplets” will be reunited in Canton, OH. John Madden is convinced that the busts “talk at night.” What will this trio talk about? This fan can imagine plenty of teasing and ribbing going on. Will Irvin and Aikman forever tease Smith for not knowing what the 1-15 season felt like? Maybe, Smith and Irvin will forever tease Aikman for his singing abilities? What about that fur coat Irvin? I [...]

Flying Low
As a die-hard Cowboys fan, I am loving the World Cup, 11-hour games at Wimbledon, and King James taking up all the airtime. Long gone are the days of T.O. falling asleep in meetings and doing crunches in his driveway. As far as I know, not one player and/or coach is being investigated by any police department. To my knowledge, not one player and/or coach is being investigated by any college athletic commission. If there [...]

We Will Be Back
I am a very analytical ‘stats’ kind of fan. I like to learn from the past to predict where we may go in the future, so please bear with me as I ramble on in my blogs. I ended my last blog wanting to talk about the offensive line and the defensive secondary – and that I will. 2010 will mark 15 years since the Cowboys last hoisted the Lombardi trophy. Let’s analyze then and [...]

What Will It Take To Get Over the Hurdle?
Let’s list a few names, shall we? Barry Switzer (“We did it! We did it! We did it” … no Jimmy Johnson did it Barry!) Chan Gailey Dave Campo (as head coach) Norv Turner (we let him go!) Bill Parcells (also let him go!) Terrell Owens (needed to go!) Mike Vanderjagt (couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn!) Martín Gramática (don’t ask!) Roy Williams (the receiver – sticker shock!) Zach Thomas (is this where [...]
