I remember watching the Cowboys in 1995. It was the last game of the regular season. I was jumping up and down on my bed, screaming at the top of my lungs. “THE ROAD TO THE SUPERBOWL GOES THROUGH DALLAS!” I was so unbelievably happy. We finished that year with a record of 12-4 and as the winners of Super Bowl XXX.

The feelings of joy that I felt then have found their way back into my heart as I watch the 2007 Cowboys. I watch knowing that something wonderful is a play away.

The 1995 Cowboys were led by The Triplets - Troy, Michael and Emmitt. The 2007 Cowboys are led by The Quartet - Tony, Terrell, J.J. and MB III.

The magic of The Triplets is visible to me in The Quartet. Don’t you see it on the faces of the opposing teams? Can’t you almost hear their whispers? “Here we go again.”

The 2007 Cowboys walk onto the field with no fear. How can anyone stop them? Tony is going to get away from almost everybody. If they double Terrell, Tony will throw the ball to Patrick or Jason. (and aren’t there days when you think he’s Moose?) If it’s late in the game and they are winning, here’s a double dose of running power. The defense can’t be everywhere at the same time. Somewhere, there will be a weakness and the Cowboys will find it. And they will make you pay.

Six weeks ago, I was teasing an Eagles fan. I said that before that team made it back to the playoffs, the Cowboys would have another ring. I had no idea that this team, this wonderfully, marvelous, talented team, would back up my words.

With four games to play, I can hear the chant building inside me. “THE ROAD TO THE SUPERBOWL GOES THROUGH DALLAS!” Just like in the 90’s.
