Proud to be a Dallas Cowboy

Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboy.  San Francisco 49er.  Philadelphia Eagle.

DALLAS COWBOY.

On March 18, 2006, When it was announced that wide receiver Terrell Owens had been signed to the Dallas Cowboys for a 3 year, $25 million dollar contract, I was floored with many feelings.  Mostly fear.  This is the man who (arguably) single handedly destroyed two NFL franchises, degraded his quarterback in both cases, and left on bad terms both times. I was so afraid, that this was a bull in a china shop, a time bomb that had been passed off to the team I hold so sacred and dear to my heart, only left to detonate at any moment destroying my beloved Dallas Cowboys. I knew the media hype already LOVED us so much, this could only make it better. I tried to imagine the media circus we were facing. Needless to say I was not happy that this man, the man who cared only about himself, whose ego was bigger than his paycheck, would be joining my team.

That man was not present this Sunday. The genuine tears in his eyes spoke to my heart. Over the years, Terrell Owens has established himself as "flash", a greedy individual whose only concern was winning and big contracts.  He carried so much baggage with him from town to town, that it became more difficult each time to take his word.  Nearly two years later, I feel proud to call Terrell Owens a Dallas Cowboy.  None of us were in the locker room at any point this season, or last, so we can't possibly fathom, but the transformation T.O. has undergone is utterly amazing.

I truly believe that when Terrell gave his statement at the end of Sunday's game, words have never flown more freely from his heart.  As he spoke, it was clear that he stood not for himself, not for a winning season.  He stood for the Dallas Cowboys.  At the beginning of the season T.O. said something to Tony Romo that I never thought I would hear from such a man.  "I am because you are. You are because I am." The Terrell Owens that stood before us and cried for the sake of his teammate and friend on Sunday, is not the T.O. who made waves in Philly. He is not the same T.O. who rubbed Jeff Garcia the wrong way. The product of environment?  Maybe. A new outlook on life? Possible.  But the way I see it, with as much talent and heart as that man garners, I am PROUD to call Terrell Owens a Dallas Cowboy.

Moving on to Skip Bayless. I'm not sure how many of you caught his enlightening and insightful interview Monday, but man oh man what a commentator.  It is very clear every time Skip talks that he has a genuine distaste for America's team. For him to say the words, "Dallas Cowboys" looks as if it almost makes him cringe each time. Look, I get it, you don't like the Cowboys. But give it a rest! We know you don't like the Cowboys, and that's ok...more people to add to the list of thanks when we finally do hoist the Lombardi Trophy!

According to Skip, Terrell Owens was anything but genuine in his post game remarks, and his 'acting' skills were laughable. This is further proof that once you establish a history, or 'Track Record' rather, it is difficult, if not impossible to get away from ever. What hope does the rest of the world have, if change is impossible? All I wanted to do in this part of the article is everything I could to debunk Skip Bayless. Skip is a joke, and in order to be a good commentator, you have to climb off your high horse jealous track of the greatest team in the nation and get over it.

I am a Dallas Cowboys fan.  I love the Dallas Cowboys, and as long as I live I will forever defend my coaches, my owner and my teammates. And Terrell Owens is on the top of that list.

What is the deal with Skip Bayless--I thought he used to be some kind of associate of the Cowboys?

no no no, JC. For whatever reason, Bayless HATES the Cowboys. He's just completely clueless, and I hate him. He had the gall to say that the Cowboys sending 12 players to the Pro Bowl was a joke. Interesting factoid; Skip Bayless and Terrell Owens share the same birthday.

It's hard to believe I won't see the boys in blue play anymore. I love them so much and I cried with T.O. and the rest of the team - Much love given to my boys in blue, they will always wear a star!

I believed TO was totally sincere and it surprised me and touched my heart. For him to stand there and take the loss as a team was a sign of a man and a true team member. You know, I was at the infamous San Fran/Dallas game the TO stood on the star. Terrell has always amazed me with his ability, but that day, when he stood on the star, I just may have had a premonition. I turned to my husband and said, "Yeah, he stands on that star because deep inside he wants to be a Cowboy." Today, I am happy that he is True Blue! God Bless You, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Cowboys FANS!!!

I've recently found new Love with the Dallas Cowboys as of last season when Romo was brought in place of Bledsoe. Credit goes to my brother because he completly taught me the game and intern I made it my mission to watch, ask thousands of questions and learn the game. I absoulty love this team, and have learned leaps and boundies about all the football teams in its history and its entirety. Now, my comment is the media frenzy about T.O. And making fun of him crying as they did Romo last year when the ball slipped. I understand they need to fingerpoint and make fun of etc etc. But I think when it comes to grown men crying and they make a mockery out of it, it sends the wrong message to our youth and our future men. The put it as though you are a man that you are not supposed to show feeling of emotion, "never let them see you cry". It takes a REAL MAN to do that,by no means does it make him lesser of one. I beieve through defeat and failures will come victory in its due time.We shall overcome all this adversity and negitivity and we can only become stronger and better. It's going to build charachter.
I believe T.O. has become a changed man with this team. I believe he was sincere, you can just tell. It's the haters who just want to mock and say he is acting because they believe in there team. But to have to knock someone down to build yourself up shows poor qualities in the media, the commentators and the people. What kind of examples are we setting? Its fun to trash talk and say my team is better then yours etc etc. and make fun of one another to an extent. Certain boundries you just dont cross and I firmly believe a man' who cries is one of them. Your teaching our boys to regress there feelings, so then they are taught this and by holding them in turn to other things from a variety that I can list but Im sure most of you can use your God given imagination. Romo is a wonderful QB and hes only getting warmed up. We have a great team. We will get it together. 13-3 and we surpassed so many records. Great things to come for our Cowboys. Im glad to be a woman in a man's "game" as well as a voice in my community to represent what is truth. Having 2 teenage boys, what the media was saying hurt and i had to clean up the mess and explain to them its ok to cry and never let anyone tell you different. Not to be a punk, but to show emotion over something you put your heart and soul into makes you more of a man than those unfortunate souls who are taught to MAN UP, Tough it out!! Thats why my boys will grow up to be great men.
Cowboys by far are the better team,we fought and won the battles bought just lost the war. We'll catch them next season. I believe we will be even more prepared and I cant wait to see how it all unfolds. God Bless everyone and in upcoming games lets pray in unity for our team to make it all the way!!~!!!

I can honestly say when T.O was signed to the Cowboys...I was upset...I knew his past with his QBs and Teams....I didn't want no part of him....I didn't want T.O to wear the beloved Star....He wasn't worthy....Over the past two seasons....things have changed...and for the better. This past Sunday when he stood there defending Tony and saying it was a TEAM Loss not one person...I completely agreed. When he teared up. I knew he changed and actually for once cared about his team and teammates. I AM ALSO PROUD TO SAY T.O IS A COWBOY....

As for the media to make fun of such passion and dedication to his team and teammates, just shows my why I don't watch any of that junk...I watch the games and the after game interviews and that is it..I found a new respect for T.O for him to stand up there and do what he did, Knowning what was going to come of it after words. But One thing for sure...I Haven't heard anyone talk about Tony since his Interview.....GOD BLESS THE DALLAS COWBOYS AND LET'S KEEP OUR HEADS UP AND DEFEND OUR TEAM!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!

I am proud to be a cowboys fan no matter what that is what a true fan does sticks by there team no matter what!!! I also like terrell owens he is a good guy he is my favorite player and so is marion barber.. you guys did great theres always next year and i will be there to support you all.
