Hey, Some Of You Fans Out There, Wake Up People!

7-1 baby and we are rolling. Anytime we win against the Eagles I am happy. For those who know me, you know that I absolutely despise the Eagles.  From the city to the fans, I hate that team with a passion. Mostly because I was born in Camden, NJ, which is located 30 miles outside of Philly. Being a Cowboy fan in that part of country is hard, not to mention dangerous. I am a very outspoken Cowboy fan so I can say I have gotten into my share of altercations with some passionate eagles fans themselves.

One thing that has me befuddled all these years, is the lack of enthusiasm among so many of the Cowboys fans that actually live in Dallas. When I moved to Texas years ago, I was excited as hell to finally go to a Cowboy’s game. It was the game between Dallas and the Steelers. I was kind of taken back by how quiet the fans were in the stadium. Everyone was so quiet and I wasn’t used to that. I actually had a lady ask me to sit down because she couldn’t see.  “ARE U KIDDING ME”!!!!!!!!  Who sits down during a football game? Not to mention the fact that the Steelers fans were just as loud as then the Cowboy fans. I looked up and saw terrible towels flying everywhere. I was actually kind of pissed off by that. I stood up and cheered the entire game. Myself and a few others made it known that this is Texas Stadium and not Hines Field.

One thing I can say about the Eagle fans is that they love their team. I have been to a couple of Eagles games and Lincoln Field is always rocking. That place is so loud that you have to literally scream to the person next to you to even carry on a conversation. The fans there are passionate towards their team and rude and obnoxious towards the visiting team and fans. They are so bad that you can have beer, food and whatever else thrown at you if you’re wearing and opposing team jersey. Not by any means am I saying that our fans need to act like that, but I do feel we can show some more passion and emotion.

I remember going to a game in Seattle and I was amazed at how passionate the fans were there. Every time the other team had the ball the stadium erupted. They kept getting false starts and that just made the fans scream even louder. They were heckling the opposing fans but not rude with it and kept it just clean football fun. I would actually look forward going to game in Seattle when they play Dallas. I would love to be in that stadium being a Cowboy fan and just be able to go back and forth with the fans in clean fun.

We all need to unite and show more passion and love towards our beloved Cowboys. I know that some people may not take it as serious as others, but if you are a true blue Cowboy fan, I feel you will agree with me on this. There is nothing else better than a Cowboy win. It makes your whole week even better. It makes you smile on Sunday while you are at the bar with other fellow Cowboy fans. Let’s kick up that passion and emotion and show that we are true blue to the heart.

The Cowboys Need a Valiant Game Plan

Going in the bye week being 6-1 is exactly what I predicted at the start of the season, so I am happy about that. Some would argue that going into the bye with such a hot start is a bad thing, but I disagree. The Cowboys need this bye week and its coming at just the right time.

We have some players hurt that need the rest. The Cowboys need a valiant game plan for the games coming ahead. We have three hard divisional games right around the corner. Those games are going to be critical. We can not afford to make the mistakes that have plagued us for the past couple of weeks. The mistakes cost us against New England and almost cost us against the Vikings.

As I stated in a previous blog, I am a Jimmy Johnson no nonsense type of guy that absolutely hates mistakes. Mistakes cost you ball games and should not be tolerated by the coach or the players. We need to put a chip on our shoulders and go into the next few weeks ready to play, looking forward to taking on any team that is trying to beat us.

I guarantee you the FEAGLES are looking forward to the game against Dallas. Nothing would be sweeter to them than beating the division leaders at home in front of a sold out crowd. We need to have that same energy and intensity and show them just how we really feel about them. Coming out of the next few weeks with victories would be a huge boost in morale, and getting us one step closer to playing in Glendale. I am already sitting here waiting for them to come. GET YOUR DAMN POPCORN READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LETS KEEP IT REAL

For the most part everything is going good, everyone is smiling, laughing it up, thinking we are the best thing since sliced bread. The fans are excited, the city of Dallas is buzzing with excitement and who wouldn’t be. If you’re favorite team was 3-0 and showing no signs of slowing down you would be excited also. But history has proven many times before it is NOT how you start the season it is how you finish it.

No one is more excited than I am. The Cowboys have not started 3-0 since 1995. That is just entirely too long for me, but I know the history. I refuse to get too excited right now. I will hold that excitement until we get further along in the season.

Let’s keep it real, we have some tough games coming up. I am a firm believer of taking one week at a time but I would be lying to you if I said I was not looking ahead to the game with the Patriots. Randy Moss seems to have a chip on his shoulder when it comes to Dallas. I believe it’s because Jerry Jones choose not to draft him because of troubles back in Marshal. He seems to have his best games against Dallas. It’s like he has something to prove to everyone that holds the Cowboys dear to them.

Nevertheless the Cowboys have looked awesome. Going into Soldier Field and coming out with a victory was huge. This is something the 'Boys can build on and carry them over for the next few games.  I must admit at first I was not fond of the idea of Wade Phillips being the head coach but hell what do I know.  Jerry Jones knew what he was doing when he hired Wade and so far it seems to be a good fit.

We are getting the job done with a lot of backup players. When Newman, Ellis and Glenn come back in the lineup the rest of the league is in for a rude awakening because we are coming for blood.   EAGLE AND DEADSKIN BLOOD BABY.

No Excuses 'Cause This Is Our Year

I will never complain of a win. A win is always good, but I am a Jimmy Johnson type of person.  There are no excuses for mistakes, no excuses for stupid penalties. That is one area the Cowboys have to fix very fast.

The defense gave up alot of yards and points, but I believe those areas can be fixed. The absence of Newman is a major factor and his return will give the defense a sudden boast.

I am more impressed with Romo. Despite the late interception, he played a near flawless game. He was very poised in the pocket with the quickest release I have seen in a QB in a long time. If the offense keeps playing this way, we will be tough to beat. The defense will get better, you can believe that.

It's time to get excited my Cowboy family. I truly believe this is our year and we are going to bring it to the house. Show your love for the 'Boys next Sunday.  And let’s show them DEADSKINS how to beat up a dolphin.

Bring the Boys Back to Glory

After the third game of the preseason there are a lot of questions that have been answered and a few that are still unanswered.  The Cowboys have looked sharp up until the Houston game.  The defense gave up more rushing yards in that one game then in the last two.  It goes back to the way the Cowboys have always played away from home.  The Cowboys do have a history of not playing well in hostile environments, but I do feel it is something that Coach Phillips can work out before the season starts.

The main thing that upset me personally here is that the Cowboys have yet to win a game in Houston.  I know we all remember the first disaster of the Texans first regular season game back in 2002 where the Cowboys looked absolutely horrible.  This past game wasn’t to that degree but it did bring back some unpleasant memories.

On a brighter note the Cowboys did look better in the second half.  I believe the team just needed to settle down and get used to the hostile environment they were playing in.  Even though it was a preseason game the Texans and their fans were treating it like it was their Super Bowl.  It is not every day they get to play on the field with a good caliber team like the Cowboys.

Well my friends I hope you guys have a wonderful week.  Lets keep supporting the team and show the love we need to show to bring the boys back to glory.
