My daughter and I made a memory we will never forget!

I don’t know where to begin. If you read my article My Birthday Wish you know how much going to Cowboy Stadium was a dream of mine. My dream came true! I just returned from Arlington. Just seeing the size of the stadium is something to behold.

Once I entered the stadium I was shaking. I told the Usher I couldn’t believe I was about not only see the field but stand on it. We talked Thur a small corridor and behold before my eyes the largest building I had ever seen. The colors of the field where so brilliant. The layers of seats seemed to keep going and going. I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. Its definitely larger than Texas Stadium, but you still felt as though you where at the old stadium, the hole in the roof, the ring of honor, the white stars around the field. The old and new combined together with class.

It took me a few minutes to step on the field. Once I did wow how special it was. I was standing in the end zone where touchdowns are made. I checked out every detail thinking how hard the players work to get there every Sunday.

We made our way to the Miller Lite Club from there. I know I will never be in there unless I win the lottery. The huge star that hung over the tunnel was beautiful! I stood at the beginning of the tunnel , seeing the field ahead and wondered what the players felt with 100,000 people waiting to see them perform on their new home turf. That gave me cold chills. That was my special moment.

On to the Interview Room, which is larger than the White House’s. We sat at the table where Romo and all the players handle the pressure of the press. We walk through a set of double doors and there we are on Rookie Row in the locker room. These lockers aren’t by the other lockers. They have a small TV and not that much room. I was thinking wow the locker room sure isn’t much’ then I saw all the other lockers and the big TV’s, the showers and so on. It then dawned on me those where the rookie lockers we had seen first. So I am calling it Rookie Row. I am not sure what the players call it. DeMarcus Ware, Tony Romo and Miles Austin’s gear was left out so fans could try them on or just touch them. I liked watching this little four year old, Anson Marquez from New Mexico putting on Tony ‘s uniform.

We saved that famous star for last. The star on the 50 yard line that every football fan knows. I felt as I was stepping on sacred ground. I thought of what this star represents. The Dallas Cowboys the team we love and are so loyal to now, and the team our children and grandchildren will love and cheer for every Sunday.

I will always cherish the tour and the time I spent there. I wish every fan could take that tour. I know most of you have, this article is for all of those who haven’t had the honor. My daughter and I made a memory we will never forget!

standing on the Cowboy Star, catching a pass in the endzone

My special day is June 29th and what I want for my birthday is to watch my Dallas Cowboys! Okay I know that wish can’t come true, but I can go to Arlington and take a tour of Cowboy Stadium. This is a inexpensive gift, fans can check out the new home of our Cowboys as low as $17.50 per person. That includes access to the field, the Cowboys and Cheerleaders locker room, the Miller Lite Club and the post-game interview room.

I realize most of our readers have done this, but alot of us that have been fans for years can’t afford game tickets or maybe can’t make the time to attend the game, this would be a fantasy come true. Just close your eyes and believe that you and the special people in your life are standing on the very field that your heroes play every Sunday – the very field that Tony Romo takes charge of the offense! Miles Austin is making a touchdown! Stand in the end zone, catch a pass from a friend. Can you imagine the thrill when your heart is overcome with emotion? Well open your eyes because it can come true!

I know times are tough for everyone now. Life is short, find a way to take the time to do this. Make special memories with your family and friends.

There are restrictions so go to the Cowboy official website and click TOUR and check it out and make the time to make a dream come true.

That is all I want for my birthday. I can’t this year but I am going on a road trip and I will stand on the star that has been such a huge symbol in my life. I will make memories for my kids and grandkids. I can’t wait. I will continue this article as soon as I return from my dream trip.

What is your Cowboy fantasy?

I would love to hear all about your Cowboy Dream!

Here’s a quick peak into the Cowboys 4th round pick in the 2010 draft, Akwasi Owusu-Ansah. First lets learn how to pronounced his name; e-kwah-see o-woo-soo ahn-sah. Okay that didn’t help me at all did it you? I have since found out that he likes to be known simply as “Kwasi”. Whew… I am sure once he makes the team he will earn a cool nickname too.

I had never heard of this young player before we drafted him. From the research I have done I feel like he will be a project for Jerry Jones. Akwasi played college football for the IUP Crimson Hawks of NCAA Division II. The Cowboys are in real need of a corner/safety player. Can Akwasi fill that role?

Akwasi participated in the Pro Day workout at Ohio State University, where he recorded the fastest 40 yard dash time. He is 6′ 0″ and weighs 207 lbs. He will be wearing the number 27 and his birthday is April 10,1988.

The stats I read weren’t all that impressive. He didn’t really come into his own until his junior year. So I wasn’t all that impressed until I watched some video of this young man play. Wow is all I have to say. I had to re-watch it. When teams threw the ball to his side of the field I saw a amazing player that was determined to make a play on the ball. Which he did time after time. He is also a top notch return man. He returned 5 kicks for touchdowns in 2009. I think he will contribute to the team on special teams while developing his skills as a safety and adjusting to the NFL.

Jerry Jones has developed players, look at Miles Austin and I think Kevin Ogletree is another work in progress that is a great example. After seeing this kid play I can see why the Cowboys believe in this young players talent and determination.

Sean Lee, a Pittsburgh native, has gone from rooting against the Dallas Cowboys to wearing the Blue and Silver, and getting private tutoring in rookie mini-camp as he is the only linebacker in camp.

In a recent interview Lee admitted being from Pittsburgh there was no option but to root against them.

” I’m trying to recruit as many Cowboys fans as I can. As soon as I got the call from Mr. Jones, we went out and bought all the Cowboys gear we could find in Pittsburgh-which wasn’t very much.”

Sean Patrick Lee was born on July 22 1986. His older brother Conor, was the placekicker for the University of Pittsburgh from 2005-2008 and was the 2008 Big East Football Scholar-Athlete of the year.

Sean began his High School career at Upper St. Clair High School. A school known for its renowned linebacker corps, playing for head coach Jim Render. Sean ‘s high school team had a terrific record of 31-4 during his three years as a starter. In Sean’s senior year they recorded a record of 11-1. He had 95 tackles and four interceptions his senior year. In the tailback position he ran for 1,240 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also returned a punt for 75 yards for a touchdown. He was a first-team Associated Press Class AAAA All-State selection and was Male Athlete of the Year in 2005.

Sean graduated from Penn State in December 2009, with a degree in Finance, attaining a 3.09 grade point average. He is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference choice and added Academic All-District honors from ESPN in 2007. Sean was the 23rd pick in the second round of the 2010 draft.

Sean was the most versatile of the team playing all three linebacker positions.

Freshman – left outside linebacker

Sophomore – middle line-backer

Junior – right linebacker

Senior – left outside linebacker.

He was one of the hardest hitters on the team and ranked in the top seven players for tackles per games in the Big Ten.

Sean seems to be an all around athlete that can become a play-maker for the Dallas Cowboys.

He is known to be a leader and one of the nicest players on the team. He lends his free time to the Make a Wish foundation, Habitat for Humanity and the Special Olympics.

It seems he is a good fit for the Cowboys, but of course only time will tell.

Sean, welcome to the Dallas Cowboys!

Dez Bryant, OSU, #1 draft pick

Dez Bryant as we all know was the Cowboy #1 pick in this years draft. He will be wearing #88 so he has alot to live up to since legends Drew Pearson and Michael Irvin are known for wearing the same jersey. I have no doubt that he will be able to do just that. He has the most amazing hands I have ever seen playing college ball. He always seems to know where the sidelines are and what he needs to get that all important first down.

Here is some history on our newest member of the Dallas Cowboys. Dez was born November 4, 1988 in Lufkin Texas. He attended Lufkin High School. Here are just a few of his merits in high school.

Superprep listed him as #7 receiving prospect.

ESPN.com choose him as America’s 29th best player

Member of the Texas football Superteam, first team..All State Selection

Stats is Senior year 53 receptions for 1,207 yards and 21 touchdowns.

He ended his high school career scoring 41 touchdowns in 31 games.

Dez had his choice of college’s to attend including LSU, Nebraska, OU and Arkansas, but chose to attend Oklahoma State University. Where is majored in education.

2008 Final Stats at OSU:

2nd nationally with 19 touchdowns

3rd in the nation with 113.9 receiving yards per game

3rd nationally with 17.94 yards per punt return

2nd nationally with 9.69 points per game

87 receptions, 1480 yards, 19 touchdowns and 2 punt returns.

He is the highest picked OSU wide receiver since 1989.

I realize a lot of fans have doubts since he was ineligible for the of 2009 season for violating an NCAA bylaw. He failed to disclose his interaction with former Cowboy Deion Sanders. He would have been a candidate for the Heisman, no doubt in my mind. Dez doesn’t have any drug or criminal problems. He was late for a few practices and games in which Coach Gundy didn’t start him. So compared to many other questionable players who played for the Cowboys, believe me this kid is worth the pick.

A Dez quote from KLTV says it all,

” Me falling to the Cowboys, that’s the best thing that could ever happen to me. I am so happy. I’m excited. I’m ready to go to work.”

I can not wait to see what the future holds for this young man. With he, Jason Witten and Miles Austin, watch out NFL here we come!

Before you all delete me as a friend, let me explain:

My grandson is playing coach pitch baseball. There is a Cowboys team on the schedule. I thought it would be a cowboy you know, a country cowboy. But when we got there they are wearing blue and silver with a star!

My granddaughter ran out to the parking lot and screamed “Mimi we are playing the Dallas Cowboys!” My grandson replied, “Mimi I know you are going to cheer for the Cowboys aren’t you?”

Who do u think I cheered for?

Come on friends, I am a grandma and they weren’t our Dallas Cowboys.

I have to admit it felt a little weird.

Everyone or should I say most people that come to this site are Dallas Cowboy fans. So I ask this question why are we so hated by other NFL fans?

It seems to me being a loyal Cowboy fan for 30 years, that we are the most hated fans. Everywhere I go wearing my Dallas gear proudly, I get scorned by people. ” What about those Cowboys?” they laugh. I respond ” I know didn’t they have a good season. I am so proud of them!” I get shocked looks.

They think I am a crazy old woman that doesn’t know anything about football. They usually respond by saying ” I was talking about the Minnesota game.” I shrug my shoulders and say ” Yea, we got beat in that game, but I am referring to the season. We weren’t even considered for the playoffs in the beginning of the season. Everyone thought we might be 8-8 if we where lucky, and instead we ended our season with the NFC East Title and finished at 11-5. So yes I am proud of my boys.” That usually ends the conversation for some reason.

Reading other NFL sites, I find that 80% of football fans want any team but the Cowboys to be in the Super Bowl. We have been to the big game too many times they say. Yes we have, but so have the Steelers, Colts, Patriots etc. So why are we disliked?

Jerry Jones is one reason. Fans that have turned on the ‘Boys say that is why. They where big Cowboy fans, then Jerry bought the team and let Tom Landry go. Sure that was a tough ride for all Cowboys fans, but the real fans found reasons for staying. Mine was finding a player I liked. After Danny White left I had to find a new favorite. Then this awesome fullback called “Moose” caught my eye. That was enough to keep me a Cowboy Fan.

Being a Cowboy fan as we all know can be tough when we lose, but the true Starstruck Cowboy fans can handle all the mean and hateful things that are thrown our way.

We stick together through tough times and we celebrate the good ones.

you don't win these types of ballgames without that type of belief in each other.

Here we are again in the playoffs! What a year it has been for the Cowboys. We started out the season a little different this year. In past years we start off strong then bust at the end of the season. This year we started out slow 2-2 and they had all of us scratching our heads saying “What”? But, what’s different this year is that we continue to improve from game to game.

We will see what the playoffs hold for us tonight when we play the Eagles for the third time this season. I have read we can’t do it, but is it too hard to win three games in a row against a team that knows you so well?

I believe this our team can do it. Why am I so sure?

What makes me believe is something Tony Romo said after the first game we played against the Redskins at home. We won the ugly game by just one point and he said,

“We didn’t play as well as we liked today, that’s obvious, but I was proud of the guys for continuing to fight, not giving up and believing throughout the game we were going to win the game and you don’t win these types of ball games without that type of belief in each other.”

That belief is why I believe we will win against the Eagles for the third time this season. This team believes in each other and that is what we have been lacking the last few seasons.

Believe!

Romo is on top of his game. He is playing with confidence, but not too much that would come off as cocky. He is thinking out on the field. The line has protected him well, but when he is pressured he isn’t making silly impulsive throws like he once did. He takes the sack or makes the most out of each play.

Of course, it helps when you have targets like Witten, Crayton and of course, Miles Austin. Although Roy Williams and Tony can’t seem to connect or get on the same page, I do see RW doing the small things like blocking, which also helps the team.

The defense has been everything we could have hoped for and better. They are strong, confident and solid throughout. Besides Pro Bowlers like DeMarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff, Anthony Spencer and Mike Jenkins have emerged as legitimate weapons. A great defense wouldn’t be complete without leadership. Enter Keith Brooking.

With a high powered offense led by Romo, and a stellar defense coming off back to back shutouts, the Cowboys are in a great position to continue their NFC East dominance later today.

Say good bye to that awful string of six consecutive playoff losses. That all ends today with a decisive victory against a fierce rival. Today… we unleash hell… and a new era of Cowboys championship football begins.

As most Cowboys fans know, we have plenty of talent within our defensive huddle: DeMarcus Ware, J-Rat, Brooking, etc., I could go on and on.

However, one player that has really come in to his own this season is linebacker Anthony Spencer. In the last few games number 93 has been on fire. In 12 games he has played this season, he has tallied 45 tackles, 2 sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble. He is quickly making a name for himself and has become relied upon as much as fellow defensive play-makers Ware and Ratliff.

In 2007, the Cowboys’ scouts knew what a talent they where getting when they selected Anthony Spencer as their #1 pick. He has athletic ability and is fast enough to offer a change of pace and give the team another solid pass rushing option. He played in all 16 games his rookie season and started 6. The only other Dallas Cowboys that have achieved this their rookie year are Lee Roy Jordan in 1963, Robert Jones in 1992, and DeMarcus Ware in 2005. Pretty good company of you ask me.

So, where did this young power house come from? Let me tell you a little about Anthony Spencer before the Cowboys drafted him and he slipped that famous silver helmet on for the first time.

Anthony E. Spencer II is 6-3 and weighs in at 256. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 23, 1984.

As a teenager, Spencer was a 3 year starter playing nose guard and full back at Bishop Luers High School, in Fort Wayne. While playing fullback, he absolutely dominated in the backfield and he ran for more than 600 yards, averaging solid 9.1 yards per carry. By the time Spencer was through, he ended his high school career by setting team records in tackles and sacks. Anthony lettered in both football and basketball, and this helped him get accepted at Purdue University.

While at Purdue, Spencer majored in African American Studies and minored in law society, but it was on the gridiron that he would make his impact and make scouts take notice. He started 36 of 47 games for the Boilermakers and recorded 155 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries,13 pass deflections, and a blocked kick. If you were to look into Purdue’s record books, Anthony’s name would appear for sacks, tackles, and forced fumbles. He already has his name written in the Dallas Cowboys record books thanks to an impressive rookie campaign. and I am looking forward to see what else this exciting and intimidating linebacker will achieve in the future.

What are your expectations for Spencer going forward, and do you seem becoming an integral part of the Cowboys defense?
