Welcome Greg, I too am new to this site, but am enjoying it so far. I live in Reading Pennsylvania and deal with constant battles between Steeler and Eagle fans, so I can feel everyones pain not from Texas.

I think a cornerback is a MUST before the o-line because pressure will be created by our d-line if we can get the other teams QB to hold the ball longer. Our current O-line will grow another year older together which builds the chemistry they need.

I understand that in this day and age we need find a common enemy, which in this case would be Jerry Jones. If it was a perfect world, I'd agree 100%, but you didn't really cover every scenario in detail. First of all, Jimmy fell into a great situation; he DID come up with the trade of all trades but it was a different era in football. There were 12 round drafts, plan b free agency only just started and it wasn't the free agency we have today. The draft remained 12 rounds until 1993, which then switched over to the plan a type free agency. Jimmy was perfect for that system in drafting as he helped us build a very dominating and exciting team. He was then tested in the new system by going to Miami which never really defined him as "great". The new era of the football system after 93 obviousy wasn't our teams best all the way up until now after many new faces and coaches. There COULD be light at the end of the tunnel though as we are AGAIN starting a new era of football with so many rule changes and limited padded practices.
I like where your mind is with alot of things you stated in the article, but we need remember how much football changes year to year. Obviously we want Jerry to be the master of every new system, but so far that hasn't been the case.
Another point is in how people point the finger at Jerry for being an egomaniac for wanting to be involved in every decision, but why not push some blame towards coaches who will only join teams if they get full power? Why is it okay for them to have demands and not the owner of a team?
My personal opinion in the matter with Jerry isn't far from this article even though it may sound like I'm defending him, but I feel the changes in the NFL system are the issues where he is failing. I think he needs hire people who have 100% of their time knowing the systems and learning from them.
My other issue is in making sure we stop having head coaches call plays. Offensive or Defensive..PLEASE STOP!!! It never works, and it makes for interesting coaching mistakes.

Awesome Nate. I love Robinson, but like you said if he is offered more than the Cowboys are willing to pay for a 4th option then it makes no sense to sign him. I also love bringing in Nicks for the Oline. I'm thinking the Cowboys might make a call to Orton since they wanted him last season to back up Romo. If he is willing to be a backup full time this might be an option also.

I've never been a big Anthony Spencer fan so if he goes I won't be unhappy about it. Not sure if Ryan wants to make Butler a full time player. I love his play and he always seems to make something happen, but I think the Cowboys seem him as a pass rusher and not a run defender. Hopefully he is given the chance!

I don't follow college football like you and many others do so I will trust your selections.

Enjoy Florida. I think it's time for you to get away. Just looking at your picture above the pressure and stress is getting to you considering you are losing your hair and you need to get to a dentist. LOL!!!

Listen Nitro. This is a fan site and I give my opinions. Sometimes I have a lot of fun with my posts, sometimes I'm beyond pissed with my posts and sometimes I tell it like I see it. I respect your point of views, but you can't force them on people. This is how I see things and I hope every season that that Jones and the Cowboys prove me wrong. With the way things are today with Twitter and other social media outlets there is not much that isn't reported by people who are around the Cowboys day and night. They give their views on things every single day. They are part of the media as well as your friend. If Jimmy Johnson was willing to come back and without any input from Jerry Jones I bet he would make the Cowboys winners again within three seasons if not sooner. Of course this would never happen considering he is living the good life right now.

Come on now. How many offseasons have the fans heard that if the Cowboys do this or do that they will be in contention again? They are no closer to a championship now then they were five years ago. They can address all the issues they want, but come next season Jerry Jones will still be around and as a fan that makes be cringe and know that nothing different will happen with this team because so many other teams in the league are far ahead of them. Why is it I read so many articles and see so many interviews from people in the business as well as former execs and players and they all say the same thing. And that is Jerry Jones is the problem. I can throw out my opinion all I want. It's called freedom of speech. The things I see and the things I read (not everything I read of course) tell me that Jerry Jones wants to win very much, but at the same time he needs to step back and take a look at everything that has been going on. He has not been to a Super Bowl since 1995 and has only won 2 playoff games since then. That is a major problem for a team is supposed to be competitive in most seasons only to turn in a horrible season. Your friend must be feeling the same things that so many others are feeling about the organization to even consider an article like that. I've read this weekend that the Cowboys have a good chance to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Oh wait, that was the Giants who have by far a superior organization and personnel.

This is why you are wrong in your opinion as you put it . if you put george young into your browser you will find a guy named tom boisture. once I put boisture in my browser you are lead to a new york times story which say's george young along with tom boisture and tim rooney pro player personel and coaches ray perkins and bill parcells built the 80's new york giants. your way george young and parcells did every thing. if you put the name jeff ireland in your browser you will find out he get's credit for drafting roy williams and andre gurode, terrence newman, jason witten. he was in his position 2yrs before parcells was here but you gave credit to jones and parcells. Before Ireland it was Larry lacewell who was here during the jimmy johnson days. but again you gave credit to jimmy.jimmy did not trade walker jimmy and stephen jones and jerry traded him. that was his job once jimmy decided he did not need him. you should at least fact check before throwing out your opinion other wise it's no more than a national enquier story. my friend in the media here in dallas was going to write a story this week about how the cowboy's current personel was in decline he talk to the head of the patriots scouting and greenbay's head of scouting both told him if the cowboys addressed a few of there issues with there personel this year via the draft and free agency they could be back in contend this year. he also ask them if they thought romo could lead a team to the super bowl both said yes he canceled that idea and is now writing something else. you should not believe everything you read.I read this weekend cher had died in ten minutes it was proven to be a hoax.

The Cowboys did not make the playoff because the secondary gave up too many big plays. I really believe Romo play very well this year with the offense that really struggle to protect him. First priority for the Cowboys is to draft:
1) Corner back
 2) Offensive linemen
3) Defensive Tackle
4) Safety
5) Offensive linemen
6) Corner backs 7)
Defense? offense?
The Cowboys struggle on both offenses and defense all together.
I also believe the Cowboys should trade Felix Jones and get a power running back for short yardage. Murray is the start running back for the Cowboys next year without any question. Felix Jones is a good back but too many injury is the big question mark. Cowboys also need a good backup QB.
The Cowboys should have been 12-4 winning the NFC East instead of 8-8 not marking the playoffs. I know Romo made some few mistakes during some of the lost including the Jets game. But if you have a good defense that could go in and stop the opposing offenses and give Romo a chance to win the game, it really makes the difference..(The Giants has that defense.) It was really the Eagles and the Giants that beats the Cowboys by big margin but other then that most of the lost is the the defensive gave up too many big plays when the Cowboys are ahead in the 4th quarter.
I been a Dallas Cowboys fan for 30 yrs, Dallas Cowboys needs football player and not problem players....34 defense works better if you have good players including GOOD LINEBACKERS JUST LOOK AT THE Pittsburgh Steelers defenses...
