BIG GAMES, BIG DREAMS………the stretch run and more.

Gentle Musings from TD…..

  • There is just something about this game on Sunday……I am very excited and intrigued to see how the Boys’ handle this true test. I believe this could be a major defining moment, a win in the cold, hostile confines of Heinz Field (who names their stadium after a ketchup BTW?) and we could gain the final dose of confidence to push us back to where we all anticipated we would be before the season started.

  • Am I the only one really missing Felix?? Man….I was and am very dissapointed that his promising rookie season ended so quickly! Felix! We barely got to know you……

  • PAC MAN. All I have to say about this character is……RUN STRAIGHT AHEAD! Going to go out on a limb here and predict a punt return for a touchdown this weekend for ADAM. I will go with 65 yards, 3rd Quarter. You heard it here first.

  • Romo for MVP! Hey, why not? The last time I checked that meant most VALUABLE. Is there any DOUBT how VALUABLE he is to this team?? There certainly cannot be at this point. He has infused life into this team and brought back the swagger. That being said, I expect a slug fest this weekend in ‘burgh the ‘and I decided to go with Kurt Warner over Romo this weekend in my fantasy football division title game.

  • Plaxico Burress…..LMAO!! I probably dislike this jerk more than any other NFL’er except for maybe his dumbface QB….and that was before this season. I threw away my Christmas list when I heard that he was suspended for the rest of the regular season and ineligible to return for the playoffs. That is the best gift I could have recieved! He is no Cowboys killer, but still a tough matchup for any corner. Can’t stand him……..

  • Well….here we go, the stretch run…..the pundits are calling for at least a split of these last 4 games to make it to the tournament. I am beginning to think it could take more. Time for the Boys’ to keep it going and go out balling. Who would have thought before the season that we would be fighting for the wild card…..against the FALCONS!?!? Wow….guess, that’s why they play the games and that’s what makes being a fan so fun…and stressful!

Enjoy the Journey…….

Cowboys Fan For LIFE! – TD

Cowboys-Bengals… Oh yea and a guy named “Chad Ochocinco”

Good Afternoon Cowboy Fans…

Looking ahead to the Dallas Cowboys-Cincinnati Bengals game this Sunday, I look at this game as just another step on the Cowboy’s journey to Tampa and the Super Bowl. Over the next four weeks, the Cowboys host the Bengals, travel to Arizona, St. Louis, and back home to play the Buccaneers. I really feel the Cowboys even though not playing well this past Sunday against the Redskins’, have a great opportunity to be 7-1 when they make their annual stop to the beautiful confines of Giants Stadium for their game with the Super Bowl champs.

But first things first, The Cincinnati Bengals. On paper the Bengals are not a very good team. This team possesses a lot of talent, but year after year they seem to always find a way to hang around the cellar of their division. It would not be fair to the Bengals though without mentioning that even though there are in the cellar, they are not alone as they share the room with their cross state rivals the Browns.

The Bengals come into Dallas on Sunday ranked 30th in offense and 24th in defense. That is not good news for Cincinnati fans when they will be facing the # 1 offense, and the 9th best defense in the NFL. That can only be a recipe for disaster and an opportunity for a lot of fans to beat the traffic leaving Texas Stadium.

Now I will enjoy the game as I enjoy all the Cowboy’s games (well didn’t enjoy last Sunday much), but we can just keep on kicking that dog over and over. I will be paying very close attention to a guy named “Chad Ochocinco” formally an artist known as Chad Johnson. “Chad Ochocinco”…hmm… Kind of sounds familiar I guess. There used to be a guy called “Prince” that became an artist formally known as “Prince”, then just “Prince” again. Man this is getting confusing to say the least. Of course, we also had a sport’s icon named Cassius Marcellus Clay who later became Muhammad Ali, but never confuse Chad Johnson aka “Chad Ochocinco” with the great one Ali!! Johnson changed is surname to “Ochocinco” which is Spanish for eight five, which is the number he wears.

Chad Johnson or “Chad Ochocinco” (I love saying that name) is off to a very rocky start. Johnson has 11 catches for 116 yds and one touchdown in the first 4 games, and has one end zone celebration. A lot of Bengals fans believe that when Johnson changed his name it put some kind of curse on him. When I researched for this story, I noticed that he has been known to get off to slow starts, but nothing compared to this year. Johnson is a very talented receiver and has led the AFC in receiving the last 4 years. Not to mention he has been to 5 Pro-Bowls.

I just often think the real problem with Johnson is that he spends more time worrying about himself than winning football games. In the past he has changed his teeth (or his grill he likes to call it), “mohawked” and colored his hair (blonde I might add) and has had his share of gilded earrings. In 2006 he was voted by Fox Sports as one of the top ten showboats in professional sports. Lastly, I remember one of his most memorable moments in 2007 during a Monday Night game against the Ravens. Johnson caught the first touchdown of the night, proceeded to grab a jacket resembling a Hall of Fame inductee and pranced up and down the Bengal’s sideline to the cheers of all his adoring fans.

The Bengals will come into “Big D” ready to play and with the new insurgence of Chris Perry at tailback, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Carson Palmer and “Chad Ochocinco”; they will not be a team to look past. I just think at the end of the day, the Cowboys will add another victory notch to their belt and continue their journey to reach that pinnacle of being the first team in NFL history to win 6 Super Bowls.

Oh by the way Chad… in case you did not know, the real spelling is actually “Ochenta Y Cinco”, but I guess that is not easy to spell when you write a check. So whether you like “Chad Ochocinco” or not it should be interesting to see if he can out-do our showman, T.O..

Time To Piss Off The Californians

I know this next statement is going to make many people angry with me but it’s been bugging me for awhile now.

The Dallas Cowboys Training Camp should always be held in Texas. Period.

It’s true that the Dallas Cowboys are America’s Team. Just look at the Hard Knocks ratings. They were through the roof. It was one of the highest rated TV shows HBO has had in a while. Yet, what bothered me the most when watching Hard Knocks was that the Cowboys were in sunny California instead of the confines of the Alamodome in San Antonio. I know that it’s the City of San Antonio’s fault that the Cowboys are not there as well this year so I really shouldn’t be whining but it bothers me a whole bunch that I was not able to travel to San Antonio this year to see the Boys in Training Camp.

Believe me when I say this as well, I wrote the Alamodome director, scheduler, San Antonio mayor and city councilmen on the dissapointment and lost revenue the City of San Antonio lost due to scheduling a church convention at the Alamodome during the proposed Cowboys Training Camp this year which cause Jerry Jones to move Training Camp to Oxnard. I was pissed and still am about that. The Dallas Cowboys belong in Texas. Not in sunny and shaky California. You all in California already have 3 NFL franchises to go look at all you want. Now, we rented you a 4th? Shame on you California for being greedy.

How about this Cali? We will send you Mickey Spagnola, beat writer, and a bucket of hot wings from Wing Stop for the next 20 years and you will let us keep the Cowboys where they belong? In Texas. Speaking of Micky Spagnola, I wrote him a nice little email on how I felt about his article on why the Cowboys should call Oxnard home forever during Training Camp. I don’t think he is going to be happy or laugh about it. I will just leave it at that. Sorry if you guys outside of the State of Texas don’t agree with me but many Texans do. MANY! Peace ’til next time!
