Injury Report: Week 2

Game Status:
Out:

LB Greg Ellis (Achilles)
WR Terry Glenn (Knee)

Questionable:
LB Kevin Burnett (Ankle)
CB Terence Newman (Foot)

Its pretty much the same as last week. However, Terry Glenn opted for the arthroscopic procedure and now may be able to play sometime around midseason.

Good luck Glenn! We wish you the best with your recovery and hope to see you soon.

Terence Newman will be a gametime decision again this week. He has participated in practice this week and is showing progress. Greg Ellis on the other hand will not play, he just hasn’t practiced enough to be active in a game. He hopes to play a limited role soon and go from there.

Jason Ferguson was placed on the injured reserve list on Tuesday ending his season. He tore his right bicep during the first half of Sunday’s game. Ferguson will undergo surgery on Friday.

Injury Update: Ellis, Newman to Return to Practice

Cornerback Terence Newman and linebacker Greg Ellis both plan to return to practice on Wednesday. The Cowboys defense surely suffered with the absense of these two players last Sunday.

If and when Greg Ellis returns, you will definitely see a more productive DeMarcus Ware. We all know what a "sack" machine Ellis is, and Ware had a record breaking season last year. With those two  healthy and on the field, our defense will be virtually unstoppable!

Terence Newman, arguably one of the best corners in the league, is needed back desperately. He is a crucial part of the Dallas "D". There were many plays that would have been stopped if he were on the field Sunday night. Of course, we all knew his shoes would not easily be filled. Then there was the cut of his backup, veteran Aaron Glenn, that confused everyone.

We are hoping for good news this week. Get well soon Ellis and Newman! Go Cowboys!

Dallas Cowboys Weekly Poll Results

What should the Cowboys do with Greg Ellis?

Last week we asked you what you thought about the Greg Ellis situation and the results were quite surprising as only 31% of you felt we should even keep him. Or to put it another way, Ellis has got a disapproval rating of close to 70% dissatisfied Cowboys fans that either want him released, traded or retired. (And George Bush thought he had problems!)

This week we would like your opinion on a somewhat debatable issue.

In light of all the recent season-ending, pre-season game injuries around the league…

How long should our first string players play in the last two pre-season games?

1. One Quarter
2. The First Half
3. Three Quarters
4. The Entire Game

Let us know what you think Cowboys fans. Should we put them in and pull them out early, or should they man up and play the whole game.

#1 Draft Pick Spencer Finally Signed

The Cowboys have finally signed the #1 draft pick, linebacker Anthony Spencer. He was signed today to a $9 million, 5-year deal with $6 million guaranteed. Spencer is expected to battle Greg Ellis for a starting position, and its possible he make take over the role sometime this season.

Greg Ellis left practice on the first day of training camp with a leg injury. The 10-year veteran linebacker is supposed to talk with Jerry Jones sometime this week about his contract.
