The Quiet Days of Offseason

A month away from the NFL draft and everything in Cowboys land seems a bit quiet for my taste. No more T.O. drama, no more Romo/Jessica sightings, no more throw Wade under the bus talk. Seems too quiet doesn’t it?

First off let me talk about my boy Demarcus Ware. I am still wondering why the Jones boys haven’t signed him to a long extension yet. Ware should become the richest player in NFL history within the next couple of weeks though. The guy deserves it. He was about half a step this year of having about 30 sacks. The NFL even took one away from him. James Harrison is good but he isn’t nowhere near Demarcus Ware’s playing level, 101 yard interception return for a touchdown in the Super Bowl or not.
Some Terrell Owens news. Ugh! Terrell Owens states that Jerry Jones reneged on his word to keep him in Dallas and that Stephen Jones and a couple others were behind his surprising release. Let me say this one last time. I actually loved Terrell Owens on this team. There is no way in God’s green earth you can convince me that Roy Williams, the receiver, is a legitimate # 1 receiver in the NFL. He hasn’t proven it, Detroit or not. I think way too many fans are being way too optimistic about Roy Williams. Sure he has better hands but he can’t stretch the field and he isn’t the hardest worker in the world. I really hope he proves me wrong. Back to T.O.. Yes, Jerry probably did back stab Terrell Owens to an extent but I really think this helps Romo more than anybody else on this team. This is going to be a make or break year for Romo. It’s his team now.
The NFL schedule does not come out until later this spring but sources say that Dallas will open Week 1 in Denver in the FOX 3 PM slot. They will also host the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving. I think playing in Denver Week 1 is gonna be awesome. Sources also said that Dallas will not open in the new stadium until Week 3 either in a Sunday night or Monday night game. I bet it’s either Philly or the Giants. On an unrelated note, sources state Jerry Jones is asking the NFL  for permission to change the navy blue jerseys (technically home jerseys) for the 2011 season to commemorate the hosting of the super bowl in the new stadium. I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad or to what extent the jersey change will take effect. I guess we will not find out until the 2011 season.
Dallas Cowboys Coach Wade Phillips stated that it takes a full 4 seasons before anyone can judge a coach in the NFL. San Francisco 49ers Coach Mike Singletary stated when told of this that he thought this was a win now league. I couldn’t of said it better myself. Thats why Jerry Jones should of fired Wade Phillips when this season ended. I couldn’t help but shake my head when I read that. I wonder what Jerry Jones thought of that statement by Wade.  Let’s make our # 1 receiver the scapegoat I guess and cut him. Oh didn’t we already do that?
Training Camp in San Antonio. Guys I can’t wait. I already asked for that first week off of work so I can be there. It’s gonna be awesome. See ya there Shelby!!!

Steelers = Blue Collar “Class” Or….

Not in my opinon its more like blue collar trash I mean we all remember James Harrison in the Super Bowl holding down the Cardinals player and beating him and we all remember Hines Ward’s “Blocks” which both cases equal trash and bad sportsmanship in my opinion. It’s also my opinion that when your kicker is throwing tantrums at convient store bathrooms because of no paper towels in the dispenser is also TRASH. Im talking about none other than Jeff Reed the kicker for the Steelers. Today confirmed that Reed plead guilty to Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct charges. Below is the article I found please enjoy reading and join me in my non-stop laughter at this incident.

Steelers kicker Jeff Reed has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after police say he broke a towel dispenser in a convenience store.

Reed pleaded guilty to the two summary offenses, which are similar to traffic tickets, on Friday. He was fined $543.50.

Police say Reed was infuriated Feb. 14 at a convenience store in New Alexandria, a tiny borough about 35 miles east of Pittsburgh, because its restroom didn’t have any towels.

Police say he broke the dispenser then used profane language to an employee and also outside the store.

Reed made 27 of 31 field goals and 36 of 37 PATs for 117 points in his seventh season with the Steelers, who beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in the Super Bowl.

Ok so now I ask you all who have read this to comment and let me know your feelings on if the Steelers are a team of class or trash also are they really America’s Team like ESPN says or are they America’s Bums. In my opinon im going with trash and America’s Bums but everyone has different opinions and I would like to hear them. As always please suppor in it’s non-stop battle to get Jerry to resign through a petition on the site which is getting more and more signatures every time I look so fans please dont sit back and look at the site and close it, sign the petition also.

Fitzgerald’s Late Heroics Just Not Enough

This Sunday I watched what I believe to be the most heart-breaking game I have seen. There was so many jaw-dropping plays but the one that caught my attention and told me it would be game deciding was a 100 yard int-td return by James Harrison for the Steelers.

At least I thought it was game deciding until i saw Fitzgerald catch fire in the 4th quater of the game on his last td I thought ok this is done due to the fact the defense had stopped the Steelers the whole 4th quater, boy was I wrong Santonio Holmes ate the Cardinals defense alive on the game winning drive.

Here is a little peice of an article I grabbed from the NFL website telling Fitzgeralds stats and what he had to say after the game.

Fitzgerald caught six passes for 115 yards — in the fourth quarter — after having just one reception for 12 yards in the first three. He finished with 30 catches for 546 yards in four postseason games, shattering Jerry Rice’s NFL playoff record of 409 receiving yards in 1988. However, the numbers didn’t mean much to Fitzgerald.

“I just feel empty, to be honest with you,” Fitzgerald said, “kind of like all for nothing. You’ve just got to try to pick up the pieces and come back strong next season.”

His 64-yard scoring pass from Warner gave Arizona its only lead of the game.

Now as I end this post I want to bring up two issues that really made me tick last night. First off where was the booth review on the Warner, because to me that looked like his arm was obviously going foward on that play but no booth review happened ruining any shot the Cardinals had at Fitzgerald in the endzone which is in my opinion at 60% chance of a touchdown.

The second thing that ticked me off was when the NFL Defensive Player of The Year James Harrison who I would personally expect to show class and play a straight up ball game with maybe a minor argument, but no he showed his thug side when he held a Cardinals player down on the ground and started beating him with his fist. I must ask why he was not ejected from this game because we all know had this been a Cowboy player to do this he would have been ejected from the game, fined and got ragged by the media saying that it showed the cowboys have no discipline on their team. So I say this injustice towards the Cowboys in the NFL needs to stop NOW!

Roger Goodell I pray to you to do what is right and fine James Harrison for this uncalled for act of brutatilty on our sacred grounds in the NFL.

Feel free to comment and let me know what you thing about these issues I brought up or anything you would like me to write about in the near future.

Football On My Mind…….

Hey guys, just a few things to discuss. First, I would like to congratulate the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers on reaching Super Bowl 43. Much props to both teams. Honestly, I am pulling for the Cards on this one. On a side note as well, Imagine if Terrell Owens would of pulled that Boldin Act yesterday after they won. ESPN would of been all over that. On to the Boys………..

First I would LOVE to say that Demarcus Ware was, to put it eloquently, ROBBED. I will give James Harrison as much props as the next guy but he is nowhere near Ware’s capability. In Harrison, you get a great passrusher. In Ware, you get the complete package. This just goes to show the unwavering Bias that is thrown, or has been thrown for decades at your Dallas Cowboys. I was quite honestly shocked that Emmitt Smith won the league MVP in 1995 and thats when I thought girls were still icky!! Demarcus, you dominated the defensive side of the ball all year long. You deserved it more than anyone in the football land. Kind of ironic that Ware wins the Dick Butkus award for the NFL’s best linebacker. I thought that was Harrison, oh wait….

Second, Terrell Owens is one of my favriote players on this team. I honestly believe ESPN is on a witch hunt to make T.O. a cancer. He is the only guy all year that showed any emotion on the field when this went wrong. For you Cowboy fans out there wanting T.O. out i can only say this. If T.O. is gone next year and we dont replace him, this team doesnt win 8 games next year. Easy as that. Yes, T.O. is getting old by NFL standards but the guy is still the best receiver on this team. Unless Dallas releases T.O. and then signs a Pro Bowl reciever somehow then I would probably be ok with it, but quite honestly it aint happening. Terrell Owens will be a Dallas Cowboy next year. I would be shocked if he isnt. I just got my authentic T.O. jersey this year too. Damn It!!

Third, Ray Lewis is gonna be a free agent and there is talk Jerry Jones is gonna go after the guy big time. I say, I LOVE IT. Ray Lewis is exactley what this defense needs. I know I am gonna get alot of slack for this but I really love the Ravens defense. Its a punch you in the mouth and point and laugh at you in the face kind of defense we need. They are nasty, mean and play as one unit. Thats all due to Ray Lewis. The guy plays with alot of emotion and wears his heart on his sleeve. He makes average players around him great. I would honestly as well be shocked if Baltimore lets him go and doesnt franchise him, but I would love to see the guy in a Cowboy uniform. Hey Mosh, get those Ray Lewis jerseys orders ready for just in case.

Fourth, Brian Stewart was fired. Big Deal. I believe the real problem of the Cowboys awkward 2008 season is deeper than Brian Stewart. Wade Phillips for one should not be coaching this team. Wade Phillips is an awesome defensive coach but when it comes to Head Coaching the guy sucks. With this many Stars on this team, you have to have a disciplinarian. A Jimmy Johnson / Bill Cowher type of coach. Its very sad, frustrating, depressing and everything else x100 the way our season went. And every week after a loss, Phillips just sugar coated everything. I would love to see the Cowboys bring in Mike Martz to see if he can recreate the Greatest Show on Turf. The guy also doesnt take bullcrap from anybody. Thats not gonna happen cause Garrett wasnt offered a head coaching job anywhere.

And Fifth, finally, I am ecstatic the Boys will be in San Antonio for training camp this year. I will be there for a whole week. Can’t wait for that to happen. Thats all for now.
