Injury Report: Week 1

Game Status:
Out:
LB Greg Ellis (Achilles)
WR Terry Glenn (Knee)

Questionable:
LB Kevin Burnett (Ankle)
CB Terence Newman (Foot)

Greg Ellis and Terry Glenn will not play Sunday, that much is for sure. Terence Newman and Kevin Burnett are both gametime decisions.

Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd need to step it up and show that they can cover for Terry Glenn’s absense. I believe Glenn will be missed but I also think the Cowboys other weapons are powerful and will fill the hole left by the injured wide receiver.

I hope that Newman can play, but at the same time I hope he’s ready to play. Playing with an unhealed injury can cause more damage than good. But then again they are saying he will have to play with this injury for the entire season. I think it depends on how much pain he can tolerate. With the release of veteran Aaron Glenn, Jacques Reeves will take Newman’s place.

I heard a player say that there is a difference in playing hurt and playing injured… I don’t know about that but as much as they get beat up on the field I imagine its gotta hurt even when you aren’t injured!

Training Camp News: Updates on Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens

Wide receiver Terry Glenn will be out for at least 2 weeks including the first 2007 preseason game due to a tiny cyst on the back of his right kneecap. Glenn left practice on Sunday with knee pain, and an MRI on Monday came back negative. However, on Tuesday he had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Jerry Jones was sure that the 12 year veteran will be back before the regular season begins.

Terrell Owens also sat out of today’s practice when the coach’s decided to give him the day off to rest his legs. Owens still came to practice and gave a few of the younger players some tips and then watched his team in action.

With the two veteran starters out today, Sam Hurd, Patrick Crayton and even Miles Austin got alot of workout time with the first string during Tuesday’s practice. Head coach Wade Phillips and staff have been very impressed by the young receivers so far in Training Camp.

Dallas Cowboys Weekly Poll Results

Hi Cowboys fans!

Here are the results of our first Cowboys Poll of the new season. Last week we asked you…

What Do You Think Of The Cowboys Off Season Moves?

I am not surprised that 83 percent of you thought the Cowboys had a pretty darn good off season. Given the fact that we had to replace Bill Parcells and most of the coaching staff, I think we did alright with the new coaching regime. We also added some high profile players and locked in some of our stars to contract extensions as well. The word is that our top draft pick is in camp and he is turning some heads with his play and just signed a new contract. Not bad for the Cowboys, not bad at all.

This week we opened training camp as we prepare for a new season of Cowboys football!

Last season we had a few players that started to come into their own and showed us some flashes of big play ability. With that in mind, here is this weeks question.

Which Of These Players Will Emerge With A Breakout Year This Season?

1. Bobby Carpenter
2. Miles Austin
3. Sam Hurd
4. Patrick Crayton
5. Tyson Thompson
