Got Miles?

I picked up my copy of the latest Sports Illustrated on my lunch break this afternoon. No, unfortunately I’m not a subscriber, usually you get so tired of the bashing and failed predictions, etc. but this fan just couldn’t pass up a Cowboy cover! Miles Austin looks great.

Inside they label Austin “the Antidiva”. I think we all know what (or rather who) that’s referring to.

The last line of the Miles Austin section cracks me up – Coach Ray Sherman told Austin, “You’re not a surprise to anyone anymore. They’ll be gunning for you now. Don’t go all Hollywood on me.”

Gotta love it!

I shall put my magazine in a slip cover and preserve it to remind me of this wonderful season. But, don’t put away the memory chest just yet, we ain’t finished here. Without a doubt, there will be more Cowboy covers on the newsstands as they make their way to top and reach for the Lombardi!

Exciting Weekend in Dallas!

Hey Cowboy Fans!

I hope this finds you all well. I am going to keep this short and sweet. Your LSS Staff is doing a fantastic job keeping you updated on the latest news on our favorite team and players, as always! Let’s give them a round of applause! Comments is a great way to show appreciation!

This weekend will be a fun weekend to be in Dallas. I’m throwing a party for Cowboy Fans! We are calling it the “We Don’t Need A Tailgate To Party”-Tailgate Party. How fun! When it all started, I was sure the RSVP list would max out at about 10 people. Imagine my surprise when I started helping fans with hotel information and arranging to pick up friends at the airport. Soon, the RSVP list hit 30… then 40… and beyond! WOW! I can hardly wait!

IS IT SATURDAY YET?

Next week, I will have plenty of pics and vids to share. If you’re in DFW or planning to be here Saturday night, let me know! I will find a way to share the information! We have kept the locations a secret to avoid party crashers! Just click on “staff” above for my link.

Also, tomorrow night (Thursday), I will be attending an awesome party! I’m beside myself at the moment and I can hardly wait to go! I don’t want to say much just yet but if you know me, you can imagine what has me so “WoooHoo!” Details on this to also come next week! You will want to stay tuned!

We are planning another party in April for the draft! Make plans now! If you can’t make it to DFW for that weekend, put together a party where you live and send us your pictures! Your Draft Party could appear on LoneStarStruck! fans@lonestarstruck.com Did you notice that LSS is hosting a Draft Chat? That should be fun! Maybe I can find a way to be there, too! Yes, these days people can be in two places at once! Haha!!

As you know, I am a major fan of the Dallas Cowboys. The only thing I love as much is YOU: Cowboy Fans! I have been busy putting fun events together for all of us! The 2009 Schedule comes out in a couple of weeks. Shortly after, we will be making plans for a few Tailgate Parties and spreading the word! We always get an early start on these plans so everyone has a chance to get here!

I will let you get back to your regularly schedule LSS programs now! Visit me here next week when I share details and photos from Thursday night and our 1st 2009 Tailgate Party… minus the tailgate!!

Much love to all!

GO COWBOYS!

Dallas Cowboys Weekly Poll Results

Here are the results of last week’s poll question which asked…

Which of these players would be missed most, if they missed the season opener?

I don’t think it was much of a surprise that 62% of you chose Terence Newman over Terry Glenn, who came in a distant second with only 30%. The Cowboy’s secondary has been a source of great concern this off season and pre season. For the Cowboys to succeed on defense, they will need a healthy Terence Newman to be effective.

Well it’s that time of the year again where we ask you the fans how you think the Dallas Cowboys will do this season!

By now, most of you have already looked at the new schedule and have a few ideas about how tough or how easy the Cowboys will have it this year.

Last year the majority of you were dead on accurate with the number of wins you predicted. Let’s see how good you can do this time!

Here is the question…

How Many Regular Season Games Will The Cowboys Win This Season?

1. 12 or more games

2. 10-11 games

3. 8-9 games

4. 6-7 games

5. 5 games or less

There you go! Get your predictions in, and next week around this time, we will let you know the results.

Go Cowboys!

Dallas Cowboys Weekly Poll Results

Here are the results of last weeks poll which asked: Who will be the Cowboys Defensive MVP?

No surprise here, DeMarcus Ware wins in a landslide with 61% of the votes! Roy Williams was in a distant second place with 29%.

Now for this weeks question.

As you all know, I am a diehard Cowboys fan. I "almost" always back our players 100% and I always give them the benefit of the doubt. I say almost because one of our players is really starting to get on my nerves.

Of course I’m talking about linebacker Greg Ellis.

I am not going to give you the blow by blow on all of his antics in the past 12 months, because I am sure all of you have heard his selfish comments and grown tired of his negative swipes at the team and the management.

This weeks poll question goes to the heart of the matter.

What should the Cowboys do with Greg Ellis?

1. Keep him and ignore his crazy antics.

2. Release him before things get uglier.

3. Trade him and shore up Special Teams.

4. Doesn’t matter he’s probably going to retire.

5. Fine him for his comments against the team.

A “Not So Mini” Minicamp Weekend

Alright Cowboy Fans, the first official Minicamp is well underway at Valley Ranch. Our ‘Boys are looking sharp and are ready to follow their new leaders. To the surprise of many, even T.O. showed up and ran some routes and caught several passes. Owens is still recovering from two finger surgeries but practiced and played above expectations with the team this weekend. Julius Jones also returned to Valley Ranch after spending most of the offseason in Arizona with his personal trainer.

There are a couple of Cowboys who had some complaints. Linebacker Kevin Burnett is upset about not having a starting job. Considering his competition: DeMarcus Ware, Bradie James, Akin Ayodele, Greg Ellis, Anthony Spencer, and Bobby Carpenter; Burnett is really going to have to prove that he can do better to even secure a spot on the roster, in my opinion.

Julius Jones also had a few things to say about his position on the team. He wants more freedom, he wants to be able to use his instincts rather than be told to run left or run right. Jones has been training with a personal trainer this offseason in hopes to secure his starting role.

Oh, I can’t forget the question that’s on every Cowboys fan’s mind… Who will be the holder in 2007? Well we have three candidates so far, punter Mat McBriar, back-up quarterback Brad Johnson and receiver Jerheme Urban. Maybe they should steer away from quarterbacks this time… Oh come on, I couldn’t pass that up, you all know I’m one of Romo’s biggest supporters!

Well overall, everything’s looking fantastic. Wade Phillips was excited to see his new team out on the field, and most of the team was there ready to follow his orders. Greg Ellis is still rehabbing is injury, but according to Phillips he is the starting outside linebacker and hopes to be on the field soon. Leonard Davis missed Sunday’s practice because his wife was having surgery, but should return Monday.

Believe it or not the offseason is slowly coming to an end and the new season will suddenly be upon us, so get your popcorn ready!
