Cowboys Riding High On Cloud 9

Honestly, I’m too excited and overwhelmed with joy to really concentrate and blog right now. I just wanted to say I am so proud of these players, each and every one of them made this win possible. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that we are two wins away from the Super Bowl. I know thats some really high hoping but I believe there isn’t anything this team can do right now.

I’d like to give some huge props to Mr. Wade Phillips. He’s taken a lot of heat for a while now and he has really blown all of us away, not only today but this entire season. You could say the same thing for Tony Romo. But this was a team effort and when a team is firing on all cylinders and dominating like they have been in the last few games – that’s what makes a Championship Team.

HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!

I didn’t want to be redundant because I know there will be a thousand titles in tomorrow’s headlines with these same words but to the hated Eagles I have one thing to say………

The THIRD time really is a CHARM!

Revenge is Sweet, So Is First Place

Every Cowboys game, no matter the expectations or what is on the line, gets me pumped up. But tonight, oh tonight was unbelievable!

What a game! I have to say I am so proud of this team. They played with heart and gave everything they had and it paid off. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but we also knew it was in our reach all we had to do was fight for it.

Now, all the doubters who kept asking the question if the Dallas Cowboys can win a big game have been silenced.

This was definitely a team effort and everyone got involved. Everyone on the field and on the sidelines did a tremendous job.

All night as Al Michaels and Cris Collingsworth continuously forced us to relive last December 28th, repeating the numbers 44-6 over and over, I never lost faith in this team. We all know what happened last year, we relived it in our minds over and over for months.

I will keep this short and sweet because we have all week to ride this winning streak – but I’d just like to repeat what I said yesterday – PAYBACK IS A BITCH PHILLY!

Coach Phillips

Keepin’ the Faith

NAME THIS QB:

  • Led the NFL in touchdown passes over the past 2 seasons with 62.
  • Led the NFL in 4th quarter passing efficiency in 2008.
  • 2nd in NFL history with a 300 yard passing game every 2.44 starts.
  • 27-12 career record as a starter (.692 winning percentage).

Yep, you guessed it. Your Dallas Cowboys’ own Tony Romo. Your prize for the correct answer?? A n
ewwwwwwww car!! Well, not really, but it seems as if there should be some type of award given for anyone to have optimism or solid faith in Tony. I know that is probably unfair, because there are many, many fans who still are in Romo’s corner, unwavering in their faith to #9. I am one of those fans.

I guess the only point of this short piece is not to start a war of words or to crucify those with their own opinions, but to try and poke a few holes in the Romo is a celebrity quarterback who can’t play and is not a competitor or a leader conspiracy that seems to abound these days. It’s easy to jump on the pile right now, especially with our last memories being from that terrible TEAM effort in Philly (I shudder just to think of it).

The bottom line: there are teams in the NFL trotting out such spares as Kyle Orton, JaMarcus Russell, Tarvaris Jackson and J.T. O’ Sullivan, etc. We should be thanking the NFL gods everyday for blessing us with a talent like Romo. Do I need to even go through the tried and  true list of Cowboys QB’s after Aikman and before Romo? I didn’t think so.

Okay, he is 0-2 in the playoffs and has struggled at times in December. There, I admitted that he is not perfect and has room to improve. Sounds alot like me in my job, and my life for that matter.

Let’s all just take a deep breath, try and forget the past (because we certainly can’t change it) and take time to be thankful that we have a winning team, a competitve team led by one of the top 5 starting QB’s in the league. We need to make some changes, Romo included, but this team is not far away…….

Trust me.
